Linda1 15 Posted December 23, 2009 I have the cricut which is a small cutter that uses a mat. This limits your length to 23.5 inches. My daughter asked me to figure out a way to cut a tribal art design for her husbands truck. I was able to make it 69 inches in 4 sections with each section having a slight overlap. My question is should it be applied with the overlap or should we butt the joints?
Rodger 527 Posted December 23, 2009 I like the overlap . That way when the vinyl shrinks , there is no airgap .

Linda1 15 Posted December 23, 2009 Thanks for the advice. I'll overlap it towards the back.
Linda1 15 Posted December 23, 2009 Linda1, do you use oracal 631 matte vinyl on you cricut of is it to thick? Yes, I use the oracal 631 for wall art and 651 for outdoor items. The Oracal 631 is the same vinyl that cricut sells at an inflated price. I buy mine from USCutter in the 24"x 10 yard rolls. I cut off 12 inch sections and they fit the 12x24 mat. Much cheaper than then getting it from cricut.
