Need another ethernet port, what to do?

Well, I have 1 Ethernet port in my computer tower which is being used for my internet.

Now i have a netgear router with 2 comps hooked up and it has 2 free ports as well.

Can i take the Ethernet cable from my new machine and plug it into that and have it work?
