When I weld cursive letters together some of the letter 'parts' dissapear?!

When I weld together my cursive lettering, I lose some parts of the lettering. They just dissapear. I tried converting the text into curves- and it's happening with ALL of my fonts now. Again, I figure it's user error- has anyone dealt with this before? Please help!

That is what happens when I Combine the objects.  Try Arrange+Weld+Total Weld.

I tried that and it still got rid of some of the lettering. I wonder if I don't have some sort of virus or something with all of the problems I've been having tonight.

Hmm.  I was testing some script on my SB and can only get it to do that when I combine???  Sorry I couldn't help further. :-

Could try convert to curves, then weld???
