Doeboy 11 Posted September 17, 2009 no more 24" had to get a 30" how would i cut it to a 24? i dont want to ruin the other 6" thanks guys
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted September 17, 2009 You can cut it with a chop saw, using a very thin blade (masonary blade is best) You have to be able to cut the entire roll at one pass or rotate very carefully and keep it straight. It will stink, and it will burn if you go too fast. And you will have sticky sawdust everywhere including all over yourself. I have done it but, never again. Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted September 18, 2009 did several rolls of 30" like john said with a 60 tooth plywood/finish blade. worked ok but a little messy
sarconastic 29 Posted September 18, 2009 Bandsaw, only way to go. Clean cut, less mess and not too bad a stink. Kevin
Doeboy 11 Posted October 3, 2009 finally did it, didnt have a band saw but a jig. so i went at it. the hardest part was getting it started, total time it took was 10min didnt make too much a mess. thanks guys http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/zz331/imagesolutions/IMG_3271.jpg[/img] http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/zz331/imagesolutions/IMG_3271.jpg[/img] http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/zz331/imagesolutions/IMG_3272.jpg[/img]
midwaste 4 Posted October 4, 2009 I cut a 50 yd 48" roll of 651 white in half with a similar saw, and it didn't look that good. Nice job.
CyberChuck 4 Posted October 4, 2009 I noticed the black marks on the vinyl from the foot of the jig saw. I am a carpenter by trade, and I have to cut finish materials on occassion. To avoid these marks in the future, completely cover the base (foot) of the saw with masking tape. You won't have the metal base rubbing on the roll. bamafan2277 50 Posted October 4, 2009 Very cool that you were able to cut that down! I may order a larger roll next time and cut mine down!

sarconastic 29 Posted October 6, 2009 I just found a new supplier in my area, and they sell whole 48" rolls of 4076 for $115 or so, and they will cut it to any size or number of cuts you want out of that roll for free. here's the addy http://signandgraphicsupplies.com/misc/conform.htm Kevin
SSW 0 Posted October 6, 2009 Thats a pretty good deal. Now if I can just decide on which one to get..lol. What do you guys prefer? medium, high, or higher tack? I'm just wondering with the high tack if if will want to come off of the vinyl once you apply it. Especially on a wet application.
