rosex5 0 Posted August 8, 2007 Hi there- we bought the 24" vinyl cutter/plotter- I finally got it set up and even used it to cut out one thing today- but, I am confused on the force I should use- which way the paper goes in- also confused about what the pen is there for. I need general help - like a vinyl cutter/plotter for dummies book- any advice? My computer is too slow to get any of the videos- is there any books to read or articles? Thanks so much! kenimes 42 Posted August 8, 2007 Welcome to our forums! This is a great place to seek help. The force should be anywhere from 40-100g for vinyl cutting, it is really just a fine tunning setting anyhow. The main thing is that you set the blade depth so that it cuts through the vinyl and just barely scores the backing. The pen attachment is used for plotting instead of cutting. The material loads from the back and is held in place with the pinch rollers, one on each end of the material.
