dgprevo 0 Posted January 13, 2009 Hi all New to this group. I got a used mh721 and a copy of flexie 7.6. Im using Roland driver pnc1000. Thanks to this forum! Dell laptop, on usb and XP. Why do I have to restart to get the plotter to cut? I get the write port error I've been reading about. Tried a few things to resolve the issue with no luck! I can cut text that I type in flexie with no issues, but when I try to cut a .eps I get that error. Im using Comport 1. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? Thanks! kenimes 42 Posted January 13, 2009 USB is using COM1? Usually COM1 and COM2 are reserved for Serial Ports, but if your laptop does not have one.....hmmm. Try changing the USB COM port # to 3 or 4.

Thanks for the reply! I tried ports 3 and 4. They did say they were in use, but I tried them anyway. I went back to com1 and it worked again. I still need to restart for the plotter to work again... Any other ideas??? Thanks!
