lol The whole time I was wrapping it I was making yamaha jokes, Im an arctic cat rider myself so its a giant joke fest when we are all together.
-
Psh they only send me some small 3x5" samples when I order it from them! But I always use the samples for small wrap stuff as well.
-
I just got done making a few of these as well by request. Who would have thunk something so simple would be such a big hit.
-
I just quickly did this, couldnt get the flag to look right but its a start. bull bandit1.svg

Not to high jack this thread but how did you go about doing this?
-
I've only layered a hand full of decals and they drive me nuts. Yours look awesome.
-
Yes you can, When I overlap my tape I make sure it is overlapped by at least a half inch if not a little more. Just as a precaution so the transfer tape doesn't separate when peeling.

removed due to bad link

It doesnt hurt to have some samples with you. Anyone can explain what they want to make all day. Some people just want to see the finished product.

I have SCALP 3 and this is what it looks like when I select CUT, the red box is the drop down box I am talking about.
-
When you select cut from the menu the box will pop up on the main page you will see a drop box at the bottom left. You can select "do nothing" "revert to origin" I have mine set to "advance" and I normally do 4" and that puts it just past the cut strip

I have the 34" SC and a friend wants me to cut a simple business logo out for him. I told him 22" tall would be best and that would put the length at 74.6" long. It will be a wall decal out of oracal 631. Has anyone cut anything this large before successfully? The max I have cut was 34" long

I dont have a 6 foot roll of paper laying around if that is what you are suggesting

Nevermind... Answered my own question
-
Yea, pretty much any time I do something that has over a 1" recess I try to do it in more than one piece. Never had luck stretching the vinyl past that point and having it stay for longer than a couple days of sunlight.
-
Those rear bumpers on the suabru's are a pain. Sometimes doing the landing by the tailgate with one piece and then the rest of the bumper in another is quicker, easier and lasts longer.
-
That website I sent you sells sheets in 5' x any size you want. You could buy a 5x4 and just cut a foot off with a straight edge and utility knife
-
You shouldn't need to use knifeless tape doing a bumper. It is mostly used for designs and cutting vinyl in places you do not want to use a razor blade. And just like Moody said, take your time and dont overstretch.
-
I agree with Sue2 on this one, The hours are a little hard to read. Maybe a little space between the numbers and the - mark.
-
Knifeless tape is one of my favorite tools ever made. I use it half the time I really dont need to just because of how cool it is.

If you are looking for a good wrap vinyl I would go with avery sw900, 3m 1080 or oracal 970RA. I myself use avery when doing full car wraps, very easy to work with, thin but not to thin. Little bit of heat to get it to form to any contours. And when you are finished make sure you post heat the vinyl to at least 180 degrees to make the vinyl "re-learn" its new position and reset the memory

I'll attached the JPEG to this post if anyone wants it. I hope that is okay, if not let me know and ill delete it.

I was cutting some lettering for my cousins drywall business last night at about 11 and everyone in the house let me know it was not a good idea.
-
I cant imagine the skulls going away anytime soon. They are EVERYWHERE, Im sure the next big thing with the younger crowd will be some kind of internet based face.
-
I used oracal but only on smaller trim and dash pieces, it is easy to work with not to thick and not to thin. I would really like to try some Hexis again. I tried it when I first started getting into wrapping and it did not go so well. But they have some amazing colors and patterns I would like to use.
