New laptop, downloaded full version of SCAL 4. registered, activated. program works. The entire program is blurry, as if I am looking at a program made 15 years ago, in bad res, Now if I go to HELP, search for updates..... then it will all reload perfectly, BUT very very tiny icons, text and tools, and the menu bar is sliced in half horizontally. Does that even make sense?? Any ideas on what the heck is going on, and how I make this better? Program worked just fine on my old laptop. HELP! Super annoyed!

I am done and done with using excel. Im not good at it, i dont understand codes, and it confuses me! So, i am wanting to hear what everyone uses to keep their small business in order. What programs/apps/software for you suggest? I would like to track my business income, expenses, profit. track all my running orders in the same general area, and be able to get monthly charts at the end of each month. -to see my profit, income, expenses, and break it all down for me. -how much i spent at home depot, the post office...and how much i made off of this piece, and that piece and which ones made no money. I guess it kind of seems like a basic money management, same as you would see for your checking account and spending and bills and such? What do y'all use? what do you hate, what do you love? Thanks!

waveapp.com is something i think is really cool. but it also offers a lot of fancy business things that i do not need at all. its the closest thing to what i am thinking, but with too much bells and whistles.

Been using SCAL 3, and just got a new laptop and was thinking i wanted to try a new program. What is everyone's favorite software program, and why?

After having the crazy cutting issues, i ordered the suggested Tripp-lite Keyspan, and i installed it tonight. Now nothing is working. my cutter wont cut, when i select cut, it just stays "initializing" and never moves past that point at all. I connected the USB to my computer, to the kepyspan, then the serial cable to the cutter. This is a MH series, 28in. I am using SCAL, and have many files saved in there that i just need to pop open and CUT! I checked my port connections on post my cutter, and the program. both on COM3, keyspan. no connection at all. What am i missing here? im stumped right now.

after a new motherboard, and new now needing a whole new machine, Support says that i can upgrade my cutter to another model if i want to at this time instead of sending another MH... Question is, what is highly suggested?? Running a steadily growing {and currently very very busy} sign business from my home. Signs, stencils, and window decals. Any input and advice. Lord knows i am DONE with this MH.

Unfortunately, at this time i cannot afford at $2000 machine, though i would more than love to make that purchase. I was really just looking between the SC Series, or the Laserpoint II worth it for any of those? Though i know ANYTHING is better than the MH

I was having issues with cutting, my vinyl not moving as it is supposed to, I was able to track the problem to the left side grit roller. When the pinch holder is down on the left side of the grit roller it pushes it down, not allowing it to feed forward, but only sucking it in. Taking a closer look, it looks like the grit roller is loose somehow, and has up and down bounce movement to it, when the right side is tight and secure. I cant seem to find a way to get into the machine to fix this, or tighten a nut or anything. the black "nut" that i can see just spins freely, where as the others are tight and secure. Suggestions?

Thanks, i do realize that. Once i fix one problem, i can last maybe a month before the next thing just completely criples my efforts. I have called support, i went through the feed roller repair guide. and i tried the allen wrench as suggested. The far left side is still loose and bounces up and down when pressure is put on it. Making it unuseable. Frustrating.

I am having an issue similar to you. the program works just perfectly, until click cut with cutter....then it freezes, does not respond, and shuts off. it even does this when i try to "test connection"... should i uninstall, and reinstall the NOT updated version of this program?

My issue with the Keyspan tripp-lite that i am trying to install, It is not communicating no matter what i do. Is it possible that the serial cable that came with my machine is bad, and maybe i could purchase a new one, and that would help??? I have no clue what to do at this point, but nothing i try is allowing my computer to communicate to the cutter with the keyspan attached. And when i go back to my regular connection, as i DO need cuts made asap for orders, it is not cutting one single thing correct now, nothing. not font, not numbers, not a heart. it is going insane, all over the place. It is a new roll of vinyl straight out of the package. I am banging my head here, reaching for ANY help. please. MH series, 28in. using SCAL Pro. on Windows 7

YES, it did cut many cuts successfully. I went through 2 {10 yard rolls} or vinyl. i would overlap and screw up, i learned to turn off machine and reset between each and every cut to help cut down the chances that it would screw up, but it never went a whole day without overlapped an image, flipping text around, going vertical, then horizontal. on the same files, and different files. it was unpredictable. so as recommended, i ordered the keyspan, while i installed my keyspan, i also loaded a brand new 50 yard roll of vinyl. turned the machine on, just to have fails, and no connection between the two. I have detached the keyspan and went back to the usb plug in, and it has gone through a good 2 yards of me messing with it and trying new things. fail after fail. cant cut one single thing correctly right now. wiped it with dryer sheets, sprayed static guard, super extra grounded my machine....i cant find a fix at all.

Yes, baud rate is 4800 both on my machine, and on the settings in SCAL

no, fixing to, but i am in Hawaii, figured i was past their hours. beyond frustrated as i cant use it at all right now.

Can I get some input on this issue? no matter what i do, i cannot get the keyspan to connect to my cutter. When it is connected, my cutter does not communicate with the computer at all. and now with the regular set up, my cutter is cutting even more crazy then ever before. i cant get one good cut from it at all. nothing.
