  1. Doesn't matter what the shipping cost is, it's gonna come out of their pocket. , you can't bullshit around with these companies, or that's all you're gonna get.

Damn right its gonna come out of their pocket one way or the other!   No disrespect Brother Knucklehead  But you don't become the Capt'n by proxy, it is earned.    This isn't the Ole Captn's first rodeo either. I am a pretty tuff negotiator let me explain myself here. The reason I asked about shipping in the first place and the reason I think it matters is because I called FedEx and that package cost them $136.84 to to my door as it's origin was Sparks Nevada.  It will cost them double that so $273.68 for them to ship me a new it being returned and to reship. I figured sunIE would try and stick FedEx with the damaged shipment when it wasn't all their fault.

I called FedEx and told them that this machine was or could have been damaged before by the  EARL SHEIBE paint job that was done on it before, most likely from past damage and I sent them pictures to prove it. The FedEx guy thanked me for reporting this to him and took down all of my contact information in case they need to contact me on this. I will also pass this info onto sunIE before they try and embarrass themselves on trying to pull a fast one again.

The way I figure is Business is Business and so is dollars and cents   $273.68   is the prime # we are dealing with here. At this point They know its gonna cost them that, what they will want to know is what am I willing to settle for?  Stay tuned as this is going to get interesting. Oh and I did get a E-Mail back from them this afternoon that said:

Sorry for the problem and thank you for the pictures. For the hat press, the alignment is corrected by the curve heating element and the silicon base. The silicon base will bump back in a few days when the handle is up. Most of the cosmetic damages on the swing away press are cause during the shipping. For above issues, we can do exchange, full refund or discount. If you need discount, how much you feel is appropriate.  Again, sorry for the inconvenience.  Thanks.

  2. With their lack of contact I would initiate a paypal claim to light a fire under their butts.

    Yeah Jay,

it looks like that is what I am going to have to do today. I called yesterday evening 4 times up to 8:00 pm which is 4:00 pm out in Sparks Nevada (their location) and I kept getting their answering machine and I left yet another message. <_<  What I am going to do today is set the machine up on a table plug it in, and ck out its operation and see if it at least works correctly. Like I said the damage is mostly cosmetic but still a guy doesn't want his stuff looking good and not all mangled up right?   B)   Well I will tell ya right now they are not going to want it back plus a giving me a complete refund or even worse an exchange cause they will hafta pay shipping two more times. As Jay mentioned the Hat press can most likely be adjusted, so that can be fixed I think but the larger Heat Press is the main one in concern. What do you estimate return shipping would be on both of these machines back to sparks Nevada? The reason I ask this may determine what kinda bargain I can make with them. I wish everything would have went perfect but I am hear now and have to make the best of it.  ;)  Thanks

  3. Being new to all this, I can see I have some excitement ahead of me. If I wanted to sell some T shirts or decals on Flee Bay what is legal?  Can I sell stuff like is in our mature section? Or will people be biting my butt on that too?  Thanks

  4. Brother Butch. I retire in 4 months and you just never know where Ole Duke the Capt'n might end up.  I don't know what ya paid for that press from Jay But I paid 4 bills and I got Corn Holed real good and Ole Duke never even got a SMILE!  :D  I'm sure whatever you paid you came out better than me!   What do you guys think about this deal? A Buck and a Half off the two, A Hundred and quarter off the Big un and 25 off the Lil one..... Or tell them to shove it.. I bought both thru pay pal so I do have protection. And Oh by the way I did send him all these pics and more after I called him and he never called me back! I called him at 5:00 pm my time and 1:00 pm his time explained the circumstances and sent him all pics and told him to call me back and he never did. I called him back at 7:00 my time 3:00 his time left a message and ask him to please contact me today and he still never did. I really would like another press but if he steps up to the plate (as long as the equipment functions correctly) I don't have a problem with the discount. What would you guys do?   Thanks ~Duke

  5. Thanks all.

Well the Slow Boat From China came today from sunIE and inside was a bucked up press, <_< handle bent, machine bent, scuff marks all over it. Rubber foot tore off, on one of the big scuffs it looks like they tried to spray some high gloss paint on the satin finish and it really looks mucked up like they were trying to make refurbished machine out of it and slip it out the door. ^_^ The Hat Press is all miss aligned also. What would you guys ask for them to make it right? I mean I ordered a brand new machines not scratch and dent, look like they got some splanin to do! Thanks

  6. Butch so ya fan dooseled Ole Jay out of the press I was gonna buy huh?  Well there goes my Vacation to South Carolina!  ;D

I'm still waiting for My SunIE Junker Cheapie it's prolly on a Slow boat to china or something? Anyways when I called out there and talked with some guy by the name of frank. Incidentaly, I could hardley understand him, (I think he was chewing on some slimp flied lice).  B)  I was able to understand enough of it that I guess it is on its way.  Yippee

By the way looks like a great machine.

  7. then I had to add these for the holders - with the plastic you don't accidentially chip the blade putting them in or out and they stay safe.   I know my blade holder marking isn't the neatest but it was quick so I can identify the different holders - I cared more about function at the time than pretty

Dakota, I liked the blade holder - HOLDER  you added!      And having them ready to switch out.

  8. I teach a CCW class and one of the questions I ask. Would you shoot someone for stealing your toaster ?

If that toaster was in my home yes. If it were if in the immediate area surrounding my home only if I felt my life was in danger. Down here once you break in while I'm home it's a home invasion and I have the right to assume they intend to harm me.

Well, all I can say is messing with a Man's toast that Sh*t just aint right!  Messin with the Capt'ns toast.... Well then that would mean WAR!

Also When I went into the Setting screen of my graphtec I notice it does not list the blade holder mI got and it is an original red blade holder? wtf Anyways what is the key ingrediant I look for when buying the aftermarket ones like off of flee bay?  Thanks

  10. Well I ordered 2 Heat presses from SunIE on 7/26 . One 15X18 swing away  and one for hats.I called them a couple times trying to get a tracking number left them a message to E-mail me one please but "NO SOAP" This last Friday 8/1 I recieved the Hat Press Fedex and never recieved the 15X18 press. I called sunIE of course they never answered the phone so I left them a message telling them who I was, my order #, the story with what happened, then asking them where is my press? Send me an E-Mail or please call and NOTHING! Then I called back Saturday, NOTHING   <_<  So figuring they were trying TO SLIP THE Ole CAPt'n THE GREEN WEENIE!    Last night I called PAY PAL and filed a claim on them! The Pay Pal guy was very nice and asured me win loose or draw I wouldn't be out the money I told him all I want is my press ( of course some comp's possibly a fith of Capt'n Morgan would be in order.  :P ).  I dont know about you guys but I try and use Pay Pal whenever I can for that purpose.

  11. Sorry to hear about your loss. :(  The one thing I never heard anyone mention yet is lighting. Darkness of any kind is an open invitation for would be theifs. a few years back I had my garage broken into. It was dark all around my place. Now I have 9 Rabb Stealth motion sensor Lights with 2 LED bulbs each on each light, (really Really Bright)!  Well they really light up the place. You cant approach any where without lighting comming on. Cameras are the second thing I did, I was no novice when it came to cameras. Working as Maint Supervisor at my local County Jail for 20 years we had over 250 of them along with 16 DVR's and multiplexers. Anyway I brought some of that Jail Technology home. I now have 16 Infra red cameras Infra red means (they see in the dark black and white). Also my DVR records 24/7. The lights serve another purpose, It changes the cameras back to color and sharpens the image when they turn on.  I also installed Signs and...... Oh that security system the wife would never learn how to use that  I installed years ealier when I added on a 1400 sq ft addition??? Well she arms and uses it now!  :D  Be leary of cheap equipment in the camera industry you get what you pay for. The first thing I would do is lighting then Warning Signage as mentioned,  and then a couple Infra red cameras even cheap ones at first for this purpose. The Led  cameras glow red in the dark they have red LED's surrounding the camera lense they can be seen from 100+ feet away in the dark even if they arent working live hooking pwr to them makes the infra red led's come on that in itself will scare the crap outta people and make them think twice. If you have any questins PM me and and will do the best I can to help you out.

  12. You could do that... for for that same price you could get 5 metal blade holders from ebay...

    http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=graphtec+CB15U&_sop=15&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xgraphtec+CB15U+hold&_nkw=graphtec+CB15U+holder&_sacat=0

I was leery of generics, but I bought one like this, but blue top instead of red top, to hold a blade with greater depth for cutting rhinestone patterns and it works just fine.  Now I can just swap blade holders rather than having to try and dial in the right depth each time.  I'll never pay $100 for a plastic blade holder...

Well, I asked where to get the red blade holder and was told to ask  Ross from Clean Cut!  So he sent me to a website that wanted $20.00 more than I spent!    B)   Well anyways I guess I get screwed more than Hue Heffner   Well when your the new kid on the block I expect to take a few lumps along the way, that's just the price of the learning curve that any one goes through getting into something new. I hate pestering everyone asking a zillion questions all the time. So I don't know what fits what on these machines.    Maybe next time Ill call Hue  he might be able to give me a few Tips.

Mr. Jones thanks for the multi blade Tip & Dakota I like the blade holder Idea.     I think I can make one of those.  There is allot of magic made in this shop.

  13. Mac & KYSIGN are correct, The best protection would be a UPS as you are Isolating the A/C circuit. In a UPS the AC voltage is charging a bank of batteries which are DC, The batteries are then isolated from the A/C voltage, it produces the AC voltage from DC through a rectifier circuit that is the safest most economical way to protect your equipment.

I worked 20 years at my County as Jail Maintenance Supervisor. It's pretty important that those 400 plus inmates of my County's finest, stay locked up in their cells.  :police:  We had over 250 cameras, 32 DVR's, Racks and racks of PLC's that control door locks and all kinds of communications equipment that needed protection. We had a Cummings Generator that would supply backup for more than 6,000 amps of current. For that moment until the generator was up to speed the emergency panels (electronics and vital equipment including electronics) were backed up by a huge UPS with a bank of 24 12 volt commercial batteries. Over those 20 years we took some major hits and never once did we loose our electronics. Nothing is 100% but a UPS is the closest your going to get. I am putting my small shop together now, and I am thinking a few searches On the internet today for a UPS may be in order not for the back up capability but for the surge protection. :D
