Not being familiar with Cutting Master whatsoever, I looked it up a bit.  I probably have misinformed you.  Cutting Master doesn't appear to be stand alone cutting software, but only a plug in for Illustrator or CorelDraw.  Thus you probably can't cut directly from it.  You need stand alone cutting software.

I just stumbled upon Graphtec Studio. It appears I can use that program to open files I already have.  Searching now to try to download Graphtec Studio for computer to see if it will do what I'm looking to have done.

    Thanks!

All the cutting software I have ever seen can open a file directly.  This is the normal mode of operation.  Many don't even require Illustrator or another design program for desgin. It might not open a AI file directly, but if you save in it's native format it would be no problem.  Though, it may open ai as well.

Awesome, Do you happen to know what type of file it needs to be to open directly with Cutting Master 3?

I can't figure out how to open directly with CM3...

  3. My question is: Can you cut your image without first opening up illustrator?

I already have my designs that get cut quite often, I would like to have a lower grade laptop at the office location that could stay there and only be used for cutting. My other main laptop would be used for designing etc.

This would help relieve headaches and increase production for me and possibly others in this predicament.

    Thank you,

    Cole

I use cut master 3 for cutting with adobe illustrator cc 2017 on a Graphtec plotter

  4. Yea make sure to use wall vinyl on a "escolade". The highways speeds will rip it right off the car when you are going faster than 1,000 mph. Tell him to keep it under 10mph.

You can remove the vinyl anytime you want and reuse it. Most likely the vinyl will stretch and tear, but is still reusable.

Applause for top question of the year.

  5. CS6 works fine for me. There are multiple options to chose from when using the trace feature. Including preset options and custom option allowing you to change more or less corners and a good amount of other options.

I haven't tried any other design programs.

  6. Personally I have had better luck with the clear transfer tape. plus customers can see the colors and design a lot clearer meaning they are more opt to make the purchase.

I think the paper mask is cheaper?

Sometimes I use the paper transfer tape for sales on ebay and for decals already purchased.

    Just my .02 Cents

  7. www.t-shirtwholesaler.com  < Does not require a tax ID number

I'm not a huge fan of the T-shirts I have ordered through them. Every shirt I have ordered seems to shrink more than I like. I'm about 6'2 and hate when the shirt shrinks into a belly shirt. Not too appealing and a waste of money.

I recently ordered a Tall shirt from American Apparel for $7.15 wholesale price... <<This thing is long. But unwashed.

I sure hope everyone is buying made in America items. I'm trying to switch over as well.

  8. Clear tape is where its at in my opinion.

I have tried the paper stuff multiple times and it has a pain in the butt time grabbing the vinyl.

Plus customers can clearly see the colors of the vinyl with the clear transfer tape.

In addition I have found the clear tape works easier to squeegee out any oops air bubbles. The paper tape just likes to wrinkle.

  9. I have used Armour Etch.

With the same results when applying it too thin.

    Also reusable

and good results. Although I don't have any pictures.

This looks great with your stained glass.

  10. Thats what i thought! Vinyl is too small :). I guess i have to download the drivers, update firmware, try the plug ins... As for the hangers, its shelving from Home Depot- i really like it for the 24 inch rolls. Just be sure to mount in studs.

Ah I was wondering why your hangers are spread so far apart. I may run 2 2x4's horizontally from one stud to the next or maybe 3 studs with 3" screws.

The studs on your wall look spaced at 24". Most places are 16". The texture on your wall is interesting as well. Looks like a small room addition or something.with no base or flooring? But it works

  11. Ohh Thats nice.

    How wide is that?

I like your vinyl hanger rack. I have been wanting to make something but your setup looks super easy to put together, In addition its very adjustable. I may have to jack your idea.haha.

Or have you seen other ingenious way for hanging rolls of vinyl?

As of now my vinyl is just stacked in a box which is very unhandy.

  12. It sounds like you didn't expand your text.

After typing your text in Ai select it and then click the object tab and then click expand and hit OK. It should expand the text and make it malleable by adding anchor points in certain spots around the text.

I save as a EPS file and am able to cut.

I never knew what an EPS file or SVG file was until right now. Are you creating 3d images? It sounds like SVG is for 3d images but im sure it will work the same?

    Good luck with the project!
