File wasn't cutting like I wanted it too, so I made some modifications to make it more symmetrical and to my liking. Thanks for the original though! GUNS AND COFFEE.eps

    Question regarding sand blasting...

I use what ever scrap I have, never had issues with fine detail and cheap vinyl. Test mug I did last night.

    Glass etching

If you buy the HF blast cabinet, buy new weather stripping and replace all of it. Also have caulk ready and caulk the entire thing. I caulked a bunch of the seams and still had some major leaking. So I disassembled top from base and put in new weather stripping and caulked even more and now leaking is minimal. I also replaced the cheap light with some water proof led SMD lights off amazon. Replaced the window bolts and nuts with 8-32 rivet nuts making installation and removal 100x's faster, disregarded the cheap plastic glass covers and put a piece of clear vinyl over the glass instead.

Very nice, I just got into glass etching. Using 120grit AO in a blast cabinet though, I too thought the cream was too expensive.

    Tips and Tricks

I've been using SCALP for about 6 months now and its the only cutter software I've ever used. I find it pretty easy to work with and do most of my pre-cut work in AI though. Anyone have any tips and tricks they've learned using SCALP that has made things easier? Best I have is I found that by setting the End Action to advancing the material by 5.25" all I have to do is run a blade in the cutter slot and roll back the vinyl and I'm ready to start the next job. Saved a lot of time by not having to search for the end of the cuts and make sure I wasn't going to cut into the job. Second is I run two instances of SCALP so while one project is cutting I can work on the next one and have it ready to start once the current job is complete. If it matter I'm cutting on a Titan 2 servo.

I bought this this past week, but its not for cutting equipment nor has it been set up yet... Diesel Touareg pulls it without a sweat.

    Layering Question

I'm extremely new to vinyl cutting, and have been making these signs below as a joke for my race bike. Now all my friends want one too. I cut everything out in black vinyl, then cut out same size yellow background and transfer the black onto the yellow. It's pretty difficult to get it perfect, I'm not using any type of wet applicator. My question is, with the titans ability to contour cut, can I cut the black and transfer it onto a roll of yellow then contour cut the border? I've never done any contour cutting but know it needs contour registration marks (typically printed) but could it be cut in the black vinyl and lined up that way? Any suggestions? The one pictured above was a test and final ones will be cut smaller closer to 2.5"x4" Thanks for any help!

    Uh oh...

I work in R&D I print stuff daily, could never justify one for home use. I'm waiting for the Direct metal laser sintering machines to come down in cost, that's where things will really change.

    Just for fun.

Nice! Could you have blown it up in AI or like program, saved as .jpg, then import and traced it to clean up some of the choppiness?

    Card Readers Specifically PaypalHere

Yes, I have this problem with my Note 2 and otterbox. Tried one of the extenders that states it works with card readers but I cant get it to work 100% of the time, so I usually don't bother.

    Titan 2 Question

I was in the same boat as you. Just got my titan two last week. I was using my cousins R31 with same software, every time I would go over to cut stuff he kept going one about the downsides to the R31 and kept having to make the decals larger due to the limitations of the cutter. I finally started looking at other cutters, saw the Titan 2 servo on sale earlier this month for $1100 and though it was a good price. Then it dropped for $1033 and I couldn't pass it up. The first cut I made I almost fell on the floor. Couldn't believe how accurate the cut was, any test cut on the R31 made the worst looking square in the world, my cousin spent days of trying to dial the R31 wasting a lot of vinyl, to get it decent but not perfect. Titan 2 cut perfect the first time. I have cut some lettering less than 3/4" in height with no problems. Oh and it’s so quiet! I got use to LXi and how easy it was to make multiple copies of a design and cut, Sure Cuts a Lot doesn’t seem as easy to me but I’m still figuring it out. I design/edit in AI then import into SCAL and cut. For the current price I don't think there's anything better!

    Card Readers Specifically PaypalHere

I have the paypal card reader but most of the time I just use the paypal app. Either type in the card number or you can use the camera and it scans the card and its auto populates the card number. I use mine mainly for my other side business, (motorcycle tire changes), fees are small enough I just eat it.

How do you store and organize your vinyl?

Majority are 24"x10yard rolls, wire rack was pulling away from wall, bought some small angle brackets from homedepot, smashed them into flat brackets and screwed into studs. Easy to hang stuff on the wall not so easy to create more floor space.
