I worked for an industrial repair service company. When I went on a service call and use , say a can of WD40, if I squirted one small bolt, the customer got charged for a full can. Needless to say a single can got billed as many as 40 times. Talk about return on investment!! LOL

That's the problem with today's world. Honest service and business are fading.

Go-C, I've been doing the same mug from the Dollar Tree only I cant find any anywhere. I've been to 6 different Dollar Tree's and they don't sell them any more. WTF!

That can be the fun thing about Dollar Tree.... you never know what they are going to have or in this case not have :) I've been checking both of my local stores every week for a particular item with no luck.

  3. My local barber shop wants me to install a wall mural, which is a pretty large piece. The wall is about 10 ft down and 12 ft across. All black vinyl and one word of white at the bottom. Every word/line is about 24 inches tall.. How would I calculate the $ and labor for this?

Here is a rough sketch of what I am doing.. Everything is already cut out.

Would you take application tape still? Or pin everything up, measure and apply the big letters without using application tape?

 This is just not adding up....

If your available wall space is 10'H x 12'W then this design will not fit if each of the five lines is 24"H (do the math). That design is taller than it is wide so if you want it to fit the wall and stay proportionate it would have to be a minimum of 110"H x 76"W. Thats leaving 5" of wall above and below the design. I personally would opt for a bit more dead space then that but....

Secondly the wall is white so ALL of the vinyl would be black with the wall color showing through the bottom two rows of text.

Yes use app tape. I see no other logical way to apply the vinyl. (post a vid if you apply it without app tape)

This should be five easy lines to apply and done.

........Not too sure about hiring a shop to hand paint it........seems like a much less economical option when vinyl will suffice.

  4. You might want to invest in the "right tools for the job" as they say. There are specific tools for applying over rivets such as river brushes and rollers. I have heard good things about the RollePro.

You may also want to consider a steep discount on jobs like this until you get the hang of it. Could go a long ways on return business.

I haven't had any jobs with rivets yet but when the first ones do come along I won't charge for the install labor.

  5. Ha Ha it's kind of funny lookin back at this one. It was my first project.

I consider every vehicle to be dirty and they all receive the same treatment regardless of how clean they appear.

Now if one rolled in plastered in mud I'd ask the owner to return after a wash.

The alcohol and Rapid Tac II are all I use. Nothing special is needed to remove the wax.

  6. Aw, I just checked my email confirmation and I didn't get any surprise. What I did get tho was another package, ordered well before the cut of time for "same day shipping" only to find out it went out a day later. Also the tracking number provided is "invalid"

    Not my day I guess

I didn't mean to make is sound like it was attached to my confirmation email but I see how one could read it as such.

It is a separate email titled "Happy Holidays from USCutter - Free Clipart for You"
