    How to cut heat vinyl

In addition to mirroring your image, depending on the software you are using you might need to "group" your image before you flip it.. Otherwise it doesn't flip correctly and that can drive you nuts trying to figure out what's wrong. I actually put a sign over the cutter that says....have you grouped, welded and flipped. Still screw up every once in awhile, especially if I am going back and forth between heat press and regular vinyl

    problem with graphtec

Everything was going great...now the cutter will not recognize the cutting mat. I use the cutting mat almost exclusively because I do alot of small cuts...never a problem. The machine reads the mat as 9.6 x 17.4. All of a sudden it only reads the mat as 9.6x 10.8....I don't know what I might have touched to change this setting. I might have pressed the next button instead of the enter button when loading the media but other than that I don't know what is wrong. Any suggestions?
  4. Thanks! I'll check the temp. but it might be more the pressure issue as these shirts have thick colors and puffy sleeves. If i use the pillow --or I tried a mouse pad do I have to lock the press down? I tried it that way and I couldn't get it all the way down. THanks! MK
  5. OK...customer comes in today with 2 t-shirts I did using the siser heat press vinyl..the neon color...and the vinyl had completely come away from the shirt....now the shirt had shrunk up some..but isn't the vinyl still supposed to stick? What did we do wrong? I used a heat press and good vinyl..MK
  6. OK..have the heat press now and am ready to start heat pressing. Did a pillowcase yesterday and it came out great! Now a friend calls and wants to send me a jpg of the birthday invitation she designed for her son's 2nd birthday. She wants to know if I can heat press this design onto a shirt. Where do I start?

How Do You Do A Mirror Cut

make sure you have grouped the items you are flipping...I spent a lot of time and vinyl one night trying to figure out why my words weren't flipping correctly.

Cutting position w/ craft robo pro

Just wanted to say we have gotten the cutter to work! I went ahead and bought the Pro version off u.s.cutters eBay site and things are now working beautifully. I don't know if there is any real difference between the scal 3 and the pro..but we are now cookin'. I will say this graphtec cuts beautifully..after using the circut all this time there is a BIG difference in the cutting quality. I have gotten my son so excited about the cutter ...we went to a heat press show together over the weekend..that I think we are going in together on the heat press and then the sublimation printer. I think this will be a great addition to my already successful monogramming business. Thanks again!

Cutting position w/ craft robo pro

Thanks for the help! in my desperation I called my tech support person (my oldest son) and offered him $100. to figure out how to use the cutter. He helps me all the time at the store..I have a monogram storefront..but had never done the vinyl. I figured I would lose money if I sold the graphtec so I might as well give him a chance at it! He was there in no time and with your alls help has pretty much started to get the hang of it. thanks for all the help...I told him to look thru the forum for other answers...but he'll probably still have questions. Amazing what younger kids can figure out!

Cutting position w/ craft robo pro

Hi, I think I have it going pretty good. Must you change the force setting every time? It seems like it defaults to 9, when I really need a 17 to get through the vinyl. I only do vinyl, so it would be nice to change force setting to 17 and keep it there. Thanks for you help!

Cutting position w/ craft robo pro

Well I disabled the media sensor and moved the rollers and I still get the realign rollers message. I think I'm just going to put this thing on craig's list and be done with it. I am really pretty good at figuring things out but this thing has me beat. I give up!

Cutting position w/ craft robo pro

Thanks so much for the info about the roller sensor! That makes a big difference. Now if I could just figure out where the origin point setting is on SCAL. I have searched the cut page but no luck. MK
  13. I have had this craft robo pro for alot longer than I would like to admit...the problem is I can't figure out how to use this thing. I always end up back with my cricut, but it is starting to show it's age so I figured NOW is the time. I also want to add a heat press soon with larger designs so I need to figure this out. My problem is I can't figure out how to get the design to cut where it shows on the mat. I have read about using the origin or WYSIWYG feature in the cut mode, but I can't find the place where the cut mode is, it's not on my cut page....maybe if I can find this I can figure it out. Also, since you don't use a mat with the craft robo, how do I use smaller pieces of vinyl. If I move the rollers to cover the vinyl I get a roller error message. I have been thru a bunch of vinyl tonight! Please help!
