Help pricing storefront
lost1 replied to TruckDriver's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Regular vinyl? how long will it take you to cut & weed, add app tape, drive there and install? How much do you need top make per hr? cover overhead? advertising value? I'd be at $75 your area will differ. -

Ink Jet vs Vinyl Cut Transfers for Tshirt making
lost1 replied to rs6blades's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
The vinyl will outlast the garment in most cases while the inkjet will fade out as it gets washed. Plastisol transfers are another option http://www.transferfreedom.com/4prpltr.html that will last a long time but better for the 24 pc & up orders. -

Profit is not a dirty word, it is what you are in business for. Charge enough to cover all your expenses even if you work out of your basement. Pay yourself a good salary and have a profit to make it worth your time.

I am not trying to sell you anything. My prices are what the market will bear in my area. Heck the Walmart near me charges more for things here then they do at their stores an hour away.

Quick pricing question on heat press vinyl
lost1 replied to MisterEd65's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I was running a business long before you, sonny boy. Very successfully. What you don't 'comprehend' is that you are the lone voice here. Nobody else thinks $25 is a fair price. Well lookie here, sonny boy, someone else here thinks the same: If you don't believe your work is worth the money, your client won't either. -

Quick pricing question on heat press vinyl
lost1 replied to MisterEd65's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I'm in this business for 25 yrs. I get paid a fair price for my work. I sleep well at night because my bills are paid, there is food on the table and there is a nice roof over my head. Not being rude, telling it as it is. You are welcome to ignore me. -
Quick pricing question on heat press vinyl

How will you like having to work when you're 75 because you didn't charge enough when you were younger? Maybe not such a gooddeal for you after all, but hey, your friends will take care of you-NOT! -
Outsource= make more without touching the job.

Pricing window logos
lost1 replied to condors1's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
How do you have them made before discussing price? You need to figure your overhead, pay & profit + cost of goods-COGs. What I get and you get can be very different numbers. Now if it is simple text layout it should be 15 minutes design + whatever material comes off the roll, marked up by needed profit margin + application time. So if your shop rate is $35 hr - $8.75 layout + 24" 0f 15" or 24" vinyl & app tape marked up by needed profit margin + the time it takes you to [travel] prep & install. -
What would you charge?
lost1 replied to CollinJ's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
How long did it take you to do them? How much do you need to make per hr to cover your overhead? Your pay? Profit? Now when you tell him $4 or $6 or $? for the same $2.25 decal what do you think the reaction will be. You need to figure all those things before you kill your own business. -
Quick pricing question on heat press vinyl
lost1 replied to MisterEd65's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
You cant be serious with those prices. Where else are people going to get a custom one off t? The cheapest I ever sold a single $2.00 t for was $25. At a dozen I got $12 per + material & t cost. Those I would usually upsell to printed with a 2 doz min. Your in business to make $$$ not freeloading friends. -
Heat transfer vinyl or printed transfers?
lost1 replied to Dbannon's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
Vinyl is good for one offs or a half dozen as long as you get paid well. When you get up in order size and multi color it is better to use a well established company with extensive experience like http://www.transferfreedom.com/customproducts.html for transfers. Printed shirts are the way to go for me. I used to do transfers then screened my own but now use Dennis at http://www.wholesaleshirtsandsigns.com/ and profit without the mess. -
Try ORACAL white, they give it a blue liner for easier weeding.

I offered up a business that I know and is tried and true. You chastised me for it in an open forum so guess who will never get a shot at my business! Maybe you have no clue on how to properly network.

WARNING TO EVERYONE!!!!
lost1 replied to laras4labs's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Do you have actual knowledge of that or is that something that was told ? I would like to know the jurisdiction & case # to really believe that , no offense to anyone . There is a criminal law , but it is the civil liability that I have heard about mostly . I would think it would be a very weak criminal case unless the guy gave all the " wrong " a.k.a. truthfull answers & did not give the elusive answers . It does happen. http://www.poconorecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070716/NEWS/707160318 -
screenprintr-are you paying uscutter to peddle your services here? No? Well how rude of you to condemn me for not bowing to you as a 3rd party provider. I offered a company that provides quality work at a fair price with quick turn time around as an option.

See thing is I have been doing business with them for years just for the same purpose. Buy quantity and save. Them I know, you I don't, their prices are public-yours are not. Sharing my knowledge here to "help us out". P.S. lost1 has nothing to do along the lines you are thinking.
