"Teach Em To Fish" Manual Tracing - Lesson 1

This is JUST what I needed...thank you so much for taking the time to do this. Here's my rendition of the "sun" file. Thank you again! I hope to be able to learn enough to be able to contribute at some point in time! :~} BTW, I found it difficult for some reason to change the stroke color from the fill and stroke box. So I found that if you right clicked on the color palette at the bottom you could choose your stroke color from there. Then I found that if you right click on the object you're tracing, you can get to the fill and stroke box a little quicker to change your stoke width. Might be helpful to someone else in the future! 4. Well, I figured I'd jump in and show y'all some of the small hobby stuff I've been doing. I do a little bit of outdoor vinyl, a little bit of indoor vinyl and some glass etching with Armour etch, the plate in the photo was one of my first attempts... Having a GREAT time playing, and loving the great gifts I can make for friends. I do sell my decals through www.etsy.com, but it's more a way to pay for supplies than a business at this point. Thanks for letting me share! Lori

Beginner showing off some of my work. :)

Nice job on your first cut! There's nothing like the first time!! :~} Best of luck on many more... P.S. For weeding, I use tweezers, but I REALLY looked hard for a good pair with nice sharp edges.

    Intro from blakdogs

Hey y'all... Been lurking for a little while, and finally decided to take the plunge and introduce myself. "My name is Lori and I'm a recovering vinyl addict"... I live in North Florida with my hubby, son and two step daughters. Born and raised in LA, California I moved to the south about 15 years ago and love it. I use a 13" KNK Groove cutter, a hobby machine sold to me as a "scrapbooking" tool. I've taken it in the opposite direction and have been cutting vinyl with it for about a year now. I mainly cut outdoor window vinyl decals, but have recently gotten into glass etching with Amour Etch as well as indoor matte decor' vinyl. I appreciate the collective wisdom of the group, and hope to some day be able to offer help to others through what I've learned. Lori
