  1. Who do y'all order from ?

I answered this in your other thread...  Many on the UsCutter forum order from UsCutter.  Their prices + flat rate shipping is hard to beat.

  2. i am full blown immered in graphtec studio its going to be a long few days lol but i need it to work for me. i am sure i will be a pain to this forum ( if i'm not already) till i figure this out!!

Watch the Graptec Studio Traning Videos...  It should have came in the plastic bag with your cutter.

The videos are also on Graphtec's site: http://www.graphtecamerica.com/graphtec-america-faqs-video-software-video-faqs-graphtec-studio

  3. i guess im a dim wit i have all my files with scal so that makes life easier. most of them will not import and i tottaly dont understand the cut master at all i am trying tho. i even bought flexi starter cloud but thats even a pain in the ass. i do swapmeets and the like so things need to be cut fast. thats why i bought graphtec but as of right now the mh is faster

A agree with Mz. Skeeter. Give a different program a chance.  Remember that it always takes time to learn something new, especially software.  Don't let your frustration get the best of you... just take it easy and give yourself the time you need...

I would bet something as professional as Flexi should have some online videos / tutorials...  If Flexi does not have videos i'm sure you can always find some introduction / overview videos of the program on youtube.

  4. Are your problems coming from the Graphtec or the software you are using.  I think i read before you were having issues with SCAL.  I have never used it so i can't help much on that... Have you tried cutting anything from Graphtec Studio?  I cut exclusively with the Cutting Master 3 Plugin and have not had any problems with the Graphtec software.

  5. Awesome, Thanks Wildgoose!  I am going to order some samples from USCutter this weekend and i will order some Easyweed stretch to try out as well.

I had been using Next Level 60/40 cotton poly t-shirts and the stretch of premium plus worked well with the shirts.  I will be trying out some Bella + Cavas 100% cotton tees on a order i have this week.  I am curious to see how the easyweed feels on lighter weight 5oz shirts.  That is where the light feel of Premium Plus had been great.

  6. Has anyone used FDC Thermal Advantage HTV?

I can get this delivered from a local-ish supplier.  I have cut quite a bit of Stahls Premium Plus but the carrier adhesive is very inconsistent.  If you have used it you probably understand what i mean.

I love the soft feel, matte finish and stretch of Premium Plus, but i think its time to try something new...

I also plan to order some Siser Easy Weed to try out as i know its a forum favorite.  If anyone has used both Premium Plus and Easy Weed i would like to know how they compare in feel.  Thanks!

  7. Mind you I understand the difference between want and need.   If it's not in the cards to buy one then so be it.

    BUT

From a business point if I was looking to get a Graphtec now would be a great time.

Even thou that size heat press doesn't fit into your needs it still has value.

I bet you could sell that 9"x12" press for $100-$150.

That's equal to $100-$150 off the price of the graphtec.

You won't see that kind of a deal anywhere else.

I couldn't even get an extra blade or 2 from the 4 vendors I called about buying a CE6000.

    PS

    Graphtec ROCK!!!  LOL

I agree.  I got the Greenstar sample vinyl pack with my Graphtec.

I used a few yards or Greenstar for practice before moving on to 651.  The box of Greenstar sold on Craigslist in 2 days when i listed it.

  8. I don't know anything about the Joto papers, but, I read on t-shirt forums someone had tried a bunch of different brands and had been having decent success with Rhinotec SunAngel papers. That might give you more variety in your search...

  9. I subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud. It's kind of pricey. I may end up buying CS6 so I don't have to keep paying for it but I'm not sure right now. graphtec and Illustrator work well together with the cutting master 3 plugin. As far as printing full plot you would need an Eco solvent pronter and laminator to be able to sell a durable product to your customers. Something like the Mutoh VJ628 and a Graphtec CE6000-60. If you are only wanting to cut single color or lulu colored layered decals you should be good with about any cutter. I would just do a lot of research on whichever you buy to make sure it works with well with mac.

  10. thanks Jarrotto!  (what name do you prefer?)

i'll definitely check them out.  i did have a music business for a few months with a tax ID # but the company has since disolved.  do you know if there are any stipulations on owning more than one business tax ID # in the state of NC?  the one for the music business is probably still lingering around.  or is it possible to own multiple ones at the same time?  i need to brush up on my legal knowledge.

    thanks again man!

Not that i know of... but I am not one to give advice on the subject.  I would suggest printing out online the Out of Business Notification, or use the one in your booklet from NC DOR.  I changed the name of my business and forgot to do that then started getting letters telling me i was late filing sales tax returns.  So i mailed it in, filed the last couple of No Tax Due returns online and have not had any other issues.

just checked out the site, you were right it is awful!  but i'm going to give them a call tomorrow.  any tips on best brands for vinyl cutting?  i've seen 3M a lot of places.  i have no clue what types of vinyl there are and what types are better for t-shirts, stickers, decals, etc.

any guidance, knowledge or direction is appreciated!

I buy almost all of my vinyl from USCutter.  I use Oracal / Orafol 651 for all cut and carry self install decals.  I use 751 for all business applications.  Robbins Sign Supply prices are okay for black and white 651 but the colors are more expensive than USCutter.

I bought my Graphtec from USCutter through Amazon and have been very pleased with the purchase.  It works very will on my Mac with Illustrator.  It took me almost a year to find Robbins because i am so far away from any major suppliers  Buying coroplast signs from Robbins Sign Supply has saved me quite a bit over buying online and having to pay ridiculous shipping.  I also buy .040 aluminum license plate blanks and have been happy with the quality and price.
