    Where can I find ??

Your images must be vector images, if you are using Signcut, I believe that it will only allow you to create vector images and will automatically vecotize raster images. if you are looking for image cds to buy check out http://www.vectorart.com/ You can purchase individual pictures or full cds from them. If you really don't want to pay for images, search Google images, but be careful make sure they are not copywrited

    What do you charge

ok this is a question that pops up all the time on these forums, I?m not sure if this will help you for your application because it sounds like it is just you, but I?ll tell you how i work it out when dealing with employees. There are 3 billing levels: Design/Setup fee Production fee Application fee Design/Setup fee Design fee is pretty simple charge hourly rates based on what you pay your average employee for design work and double it (aprox. 50% for employee and 50% for the company) Production fee This one is a little more complicated, ok you have to work out the total cost of your printing (premask, printing time, and vinyl). Lets say just to simplify things that you cost of premask is $1/yard, your cost of vinyl is also $1/yard, so far the cost of your vinyl is $2/yard. The next thing you have to take into account is the time that it takes to print the sign/image; lets say you pay your employees $15-20/hour take the $20 and divide it by the approximate time it takes to print (lets say 15 mins you simplify it) so that would mean you cost of production is $1+$1+$5/yard. After that I would double or triple to cost depending on the job and customer. Application fee Application fee is pretty simple charge hourly rates based on what you pay your average employee for design work and double it. Generally application fee is less then design fee because graphic designers are expensive lol. ok hopefully that didn't freak anyone out that?s how I calculate my costs. Another way to do it is take out your yellow pages and call the signs companies in your area and use there costs as a template for yours.

vinyl on windows. inside or out

i always apply the vinyl to the outside, and even on vehicle applications with the window tinted in direct sunlight i have had no problems thus far. The only time i apply vinyl to the inside is when doing applications inside a mall or shopping center because there is no direct sunlight and people tend to pick at it if they can. i hope that helps.

    Pros and cons

ok I currently have the refine plotter and I have had some small problems for the beginning I was just wondering what the difference is between the refine and copam plotters. My major concern is that the plotter does not completely close lettering or images so it makes weeding a very long process having to go back with a knife and cut the places that the plotter seems to have missed. Does the copam plotter have issues like this or is it that much better of a unit? laso i am using flexi sign pro is this compatable with that software
  11. Ok well I think I miss typed that part, I didn't break the USB cable I broke the USB port in the plotter (don't ask me how). I was trying to use a 25' cable and then I went and bought a 15' to see if that would make a difference still the same result. I know they recommend using the cable sent, but I unfortunately was not sent a cable that?s why I decided to use USB in the first place. Does any one know where I can get the USB port from, its a simple 6 point solder job so it doesn't really make since to replace the whole board, unless that would fix my LPT problem.
  12. Ok I?ve had the plotter for a little while now and no major problems. I noticed it does not finish cutting and lately the blade almost seems to get lazy everyone one in a while and destroy the vinyl by leaving this nice little line. I was running it off USB 4800 baud and I?m using flexi sign pro v7.6, unfortunately I destroyed my USB cable and now I can't get it to work off the LPT port, I have it setup for the Roland PNC-1000 drivers. I have tried it on 3 different computers and still no better response. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it because I have a couple big jobs due for the end of the weekend, also the "type number" is mh1351 if that helps.
