In my sign buisness I have been using Aspire 3D design software by the Vectric company to generate files that cut on my Shop Bot CNC router. Yes there was a really big learning curve involved and that learninmg curve continues to evolve every day ! I purchased my cutter and installed the SignBlazer software to help fill in blank areas in my buisness for customers who needed the service. It also helps generate sales to fill the slow times . In short I'm telling you this because I realize that this process can be a valuable asset to making my buisness more profitable ! This brings me to my problem . I have had absolutely no luck importing and cutting clipart designs . This is causing an issue that I need to resolve ASAP ! When I try to "vectorize" an image it gives me the prompt that cannot vectorize monochrome image. I've tried this with many different file formats and the same result. What am I doing wrong ? I installed the trial version of Photoshop elements 8.0 in hopes that I could vectorize images with it. I spent the day reading help and FAQs with absolutely zero results ! Is there a clipart collection that I can simply import and cut? Is there a cheap/free alternative ? Not too cheap to pay, but free is always good ! How do I proceed ? HELP!

I needed a new shop sign and this is what I came up with. It's not vinyl.....it's actually routed HDU. But this sign is going to make up the hood and door prtion of a wrap for my shop truck,so I geuss it qualifies. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I had it ! I finally got the cutter to move and cut !!! Yippe ! Then I had an issue where it stopped (jammed) . I pressed reset and it no longer seems willing to work. This is likely a simple fix ?

Once again I would like to thank all that have replied to my plight ! I didn't get a chance to work with the setup today because I am trying to get caught up on 9 big dimensional signs I got behind on while working with the cutter . I will make another attempt to get back on it tommorrow. I did work on it yesterday and since the cutter only weighs about 50 lbs I was betting my partner that I could throw it off our dock and make it about 7 feet to the dumpster ! I'm glad I didn't do it now !

I'm a newbie to cutters but have CNC routers . I'm having issues with getting this MH1351 up and can't get registered to access the support site to submit a ticket. It's kind of a weird world I am finding in here ...............but it may just be my frusteration.

Iwent through the instructions twice today ....I'll pick it back up tommorrow. 16 hour days leave me brain dead anyway. Thanks for the replies ! I geuss I'm a little frusterated because this cutter is basically a glorified printer , and I've NEVER fought a printer install like this thing ! I had been asked which comm port I'm using............ I'm using the USB because my computer only has 15 pin com port. I 'm also using a laptop with MS Aspire OS.

I purchased this MH1351 from another sign shop that actually never used it . I got the cutter itself with a manual, and a signblazer CD. And the seller anf I installed and ran the cutter before I bought it . I followed the instructions in the manual and loaded the software while carefully following the instructions ..........ABOUT 6 TIMES !!!!!!!!!!! The software lets me design , and the test function on the cutter draws a cute little box with a diamond in the center. I plugged my USB in and do not see another driver appear. No removable disk, no cutter, nothing. I then followed the threads on related issues until I'm blue in the face ! I installed drivers , uninstalled signblazer and reinstalled etc etc. I know it's me !!!!!! I would truly appreciate some assistance if possible !

I once had an S-10 with 283 4 speed in it. I had a holley 700 dual line double pumper on it , solid cam , etc etc. That thing was FUN! I took it to an eigth mile strip and had a ball! Hint: Put a 3 foot peice of 10 inch pipe with caps welded on in the bed at the tailgate. Make a drain plug in the bottom and a hole in the top.(I closed it with rubber grommit). It will allow you to put about 140lbs on the rear at the strip. When you are ready to leave drain it. Otherwise I killed a bunch of tires and died on the line . Have fun !

I'm working on getting the design to the cutter now. As I said earlier I'm also using a CNC router that operates the same (but different ) It seems as though something is missing in my communication . HMMM ....I'll keep pluggin at it. Thanks all !

I have purchased a USCutter from another sign shop,that never used it. It came with Signblazer/06. I installed it and it asked for a registeration key. I typed in the Serial # for the software , and I didn't receive a code. How do I proceed ?

Hi ! My name is Mike . I have been running a dimensional sign shop for a few years now doing routed and sandblasted signs. Recently I have devceloped a need for a cutter for vinyl signs as well as doing the sandblasting vinyl. I purchased a USCutter from another sign company who purchased it with Sign Blazer/06 software and they bnever used it. Now I have some very serious issues with the SignBlazer software and my ability to get it registered . The last thing I want to do is purchase another soiftware package ! I have just purchased ASPIRE for my Shop Bot router and have purchased over $10,000 in software in the past few months ! Software ,Software ,Software ! If anyone can help me out here , I would appreciate it !
