Beating my head against the table, thinking about paying someone
chipperi posted a topic in General discussion
Beating my head against the table, thinking about paying someone to do my website....But after all the hard work it is starting to fall together, as long as I can keep it updated. I have all the regular pages done like Home, about me, contact, etc. I am now starting to put decals on there and setting up a shopping cart. So far only the 2A/Guns page has decals on it. Then I had to set up adsense and analytics. Glad I am not a webmaster for a living!!!! http://www.mutzgraphix.com if anyone cares to critique it. I am a big boy I can take it. For some reason my e-bay and amazon sales has withered and I had to try another revenue stream. -

Agreed...Hey I tried what did I expect for free....well $6 a month webhosting. I like it!! I will look into it, or try to make it a little less geocities looking myself, I am using the Paypal cart and it seems to look ok. -
Not sure because of the glare but that looks like a kiss cut, check your cut settings make sure it didn't,accidently get checked

I have seen 651 go through the dishwasher and live

Maybe I,m over thinking this....but they want you to send them artwork that you created for them to profit from it...royalties or a licensing fee may be in order.

With XP no longer being supported, and all the problems with IE. I am considering clearing off my XP machine, putting Umbuntu on it, and using it just for cutting. It will be on a home network. I am running a TC series and Scal3p. Do most things play well with linux? I have used umbuntu on older machines for internet browsing using firefox, thunderbird, and software like open office, but have never really tried to use it with peripherals.
-
It will have internet access, I was looking through the Craft Edge website and SCALpro needs windows couldn't find support for linux. The plotter itself looks like it uses pretty generic drivers, so I should be able to get it connected to linux.

Trying to expand my exposure, I am now set up on Facebook, Twitter, tumblr, instagram, E-Bay, Etsy, and Craigslist. Hopefully this will draw in some traffic. So far the only one pissing me off is Craigslist, with people flagging my ads, and wanting something for nothing...geesh I thought an 18x24 coraplast 1 color on both sides for $18 was pretty fair.

Everybody says have a Niche so I do mainly 2nd amendment/political stuff, I was posting a bunch of anti "Safe Act" and anti Cuomo decals in the NY Craigslist. Either the liberals didn't like it, or they thought that me being in TN using Paypal was a scam.

Hey you know what they say about opinions.....but I will certainly try. I just need to get the word out so people see my other outlets. I have no problem with shameless self promotion..

Been listing in general merchandise for sale...

Your SCAL3Pro disk should have been packaged with the cutter, you activation code is affixed to the cd pouch. It is fairly straight forward setting it up. For most things a 45deg blade will work fine the 60deg is for very small cuts and thicker material, some people use 60s all the time it will work just fine. I feel your pain with the stand, USCutter stands are a notorious PIA to assemble because the instructions are in "Chinglish" take it easy and breathe most everyone in here will help you!

NBM show in June - Indy - who's going?
chipperi replied to Dakotagrafx's topic in General discussion
I have been to the one in Charlotte several times, usually a pretty good show. -
My wife works with preschoolers and saw this on Pintrest and liked it so I made her one....applying to a tapered cylindrical surface is a real PIA!

Need some help! New machine problems...USCutter MH Series
chipperi replied to StickyDesigns's topic in General discussion
I had a similar issue when I first got my tc...pull the cover off the head and make sure the solonoid is completely smooth and free and not rubbing or binding not allowing it to go all the way down -
I=P/E so 3000w/120v=25A 25amps should be more than sufficient.

The last couple decals I have cut have been giving me problems. The scrap isn't peeling away cleanly. I am lifting the letters off with it and have to keep using my finger to hold it to the backing as I peel the scrap away. If I let any more blade out it cuts through the backer, if I increase the pressure anymore it doesn't help. I am wasting so much time having to go so slow. What else can I try I have had the machine for 3 months so the blade shouldn't be dulled out yet, and the vinyl has worked fine until now. I am cutting from the same roll of Greenstar so it cant be a manufacturing deviation. FYI 31.5" TC cutter...45deg blade, 30x10yd roll of Greenstar, 600 speed, 45g to 55g on the pressure.

How is a small business supposed to start.....
chipperi posted a topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I have some on E-Bay, and Etsy. I've been handing out Business cards, and pounding the pavement. I wanted to set up at a local Boat show next weekend and they want $400 to set up in the lobby! That's probably more than I would make. Running out of ideas. Any suggestions. -
Large commercial truck doors 30x29 plus the USDOT# 3 color on a white truck...651, 751, or 951. I am leaning towards the 751. Anyone with more experience doing large trucks have any input.
-
Is USCutter the cheapest place to get 751? 2 trucks 4 doors 30x29 and a roll of clear app tape so I can layer it, is roughly $150 in materials shipped. I gotta be able to charge my labor on top of materials and be profitable and still have him order again. I already have the job, I just want a repeat customer.

Great...not alot of contours and no rivets at all its a pretty flat surface. 751 it is.
