I have mine 2yrs now, use it 3 times a week avg, it paid for it self 1st job, I replace the balde every three months or so, other than the "line of death" every now & then no problems, I use signcut2, and corel driver & used a free trial of sign tools the line of death will show up in all everynow & then.. I've learned to deal with. I have thought of buying another one just to have a spare.. Highly recommend

Anyone make T-shirts with the Copam?
gg replied to Benr98's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Discussion
I have a Copam 2500, use it to cut regular vinyl and have a heat press to do T shirts, I started out using Themoflex plus, the white weeds good, the black is hard to weed, now I'm using Easy weed, the white weeds really well, the black not as good but better than the black themoflex, I like to do dark shirts, w/ white graphics.. well pleased w/ the Copam.. -
does anyone have the Heritage Softail Script Logo (front Fender)? thanks Greg

My son bought me one of these heat presses a month ago (ebay item #330223182047 ) mine works Great.. I've done over 200 shirts and in process of doing 50 more.. I told him i wanted the one from US Cutter.. I was out of town he called and said he saved about $50 with this model on ebay.( w/ savings in shipping the teflon sheet was included and his bid on ebay..) I wanted the one from US but I figured 50 bucs is 50 bucs and I wasn't sure if I wanted to do shirts or not.. still not sure but I paid for the press and Made $$ with it on the 1st order.. never know what your getting until you try one.. I've had my Copam 2500 for a yr. now.. No Problems.. so far..well Pleased with it..

I'm currently doing 75 car tags using .25 prefinished white alum. tag. got a great buy on them for .73 ea. down side my supplier doesn't have anymore and doesn't know when will get more. I recommend them over the plastic if you can find..mumsupply should have them. 25 of them are white alum. tag w/ blue vinyl overlay. sold them for 10.00 each. weeding medium difficulty.. feel I coming out okay.. 50 of them are three color, using white alum tag. spray painting background hammered silver, then 2 color vinyl weeding difficult.. sold them for 12.00 ea. should have charged 15.00 but still making a nice profit @ 12.00. I wouldn't do a tag less than 8.00 hope this helps Greg

I quit using weedlines in Signcut, never could get them to work right :why: I probaly didn't spend enough time to figure them out, neway I use an xacto to cut my own weed lines as I'm weeding, seems to work better for me, and have more control where to put them, it will be a few hrs b4 I'm back @ my cutting software to answer the settings ?,

thanks Jay, I may need to consider my next cutter to be Laserpoint, since I plan to start doing T Shirts also.. so many things you can do w/ a cutter :woohoo:

I have Copam 2500, bought in June 07 Great Machine! plan to buy another US Cutter this year, btw what advantage would a laserppoint have? hate to ask a dumb ? here but "what is meant by contour cutting? or contour cutting transfers? gg

I've had the same problem b4, some of the things I found * make sure graphic will fit on vinyl * pinch roller to close to graphic ( I've most problem w/ lock ups trying to cut small stuff from left over vinyl ) :bang: * graphic has a open node or left over spec or cludder as I call it, tiny something that's not suppose to be there.. software not sure, I design & layout in Corel all I do in signcut2 is cut, all the problems I've had were error on my part or either I had a setting wrong in signcut.. make sure setting in cutware are set. hope this helps

thanks, my customer wants me to repaint some existing signs, they are carved w/ gold , the gold is coming off, she said they were painted w/ 23k gold paint... I wasn't aware of such, I knew to get 23k it had to be leaf, but w/ so many new things on the market now, wanted to make sure, I gave her a price to repaint using 1 shot imitatain gold and a price to use gold leaf thanks for the info!
-
anyone have a source for 23k gold paint? I have an opportunity to repaint some Existing Redwood Carved Signs w/ 23k Gold Paint, existing Gold paint is pealing, also any suggestions on removing the old gold? thanks in advance gg

tough question to answer, I've had my Copam 24" for 7 months now, Well pleased with it , all I have cut is Vinyl so far but when purchased I chose it b/c it was advetised that it could could cut tint and stencils, (PCut was offered then). I debating buying another cutter also if business stays steady, can't decide weather to buy another Copam or try a PCut to save $$$, I know for sure the Copam is a Great machine and you won't go wrong w/ it.. just depends on how much you want to spend.. btw I paid for my Copam w/ the 1st Job I cut w/ it... 99% sure I will buy another Copam
