    PCI Slot name help

I need to get a few cards for a computer, just want to make sure I grab the right ones when I'm shopping. Pretty sure they're all PCI slots, just not sure if they're PCI-express, X1... whatever other designations pci slots get. Thank you in advance for any help. Update: Dug out some specs and this is what I found. Two PCIe x16 graphics slots One PCIe x8 slot wired as x4 Three 5v PCI 32bit/33Mhz slots So if I'm reading that right it means I should be able to get what I need in the 3 PCI slots, don't have to look for any special designation? What does the PCIe x8 wired as x4 mean?
  4. Not sure if this will help as I had the same problem on a Graphtec and I don't know how the two compare but for me it was the blade holder. The tiny little bearings in that were just getting gunked up and worn out, replaced the blade holder and the problem went away.

    Graphtec FC8600 Driver

Good news, our new cutter is here. Boss wants us to start setting it up tomorrow. Problem is I can't find a driver for it. I initally went into Production Manager and went through the list of cutters and it's not there, the newest it goes up to is FC7000, our other cutter. I emailed Flexi tech support and they tell me my only option is updating to Flexi11, we use Flexi8.0. Is he for real that the only way for it to work is to upgrade? We have two computers with Flexi8 and a third computer with production manager on it to run our FC7000 and FC5100 that we have currently. Obviously we'd like to keep everything the same and not have to spend anymore money (especially since we just spent it on a new cutter). All we want to do is add the FC8600 to production manager and remove the FC5100, can't be that hard right?

    Hey there

It sounds familiar but I don't think I can provide an answer since we don't do it here. I vaguely remember an order once that we had to send somewhere to get some clear coat of something sprayed on it but I wasn't the one that had to deal with that part. If you really want an answer I can ask our GM, he deals with that sort of crap since he doubles as our lead salesmen.

    Hey there

Hi, my name is Michael and I enjoy long walks on the beach and sunset dinners and... wait, wrong forum. Well my name actually is Michael, I work at a place called Decker Supply Co in Madison, WI where we make traffic signs. I along with another guy work in the design office, designing, laying out, and plotting all sorts of fun traffic sign stuff. Our primary software is Felxisign8 and our two current plotters are Graphtec models FC5100 and FC7000 though our new boss is working on bringing in a brand new FC8600. Primarily we cut a lot of 3M Electrocut Transparent film for the majority of our signs, as well as 3M Engineer Grade and Prismatic High Intensity to varying degree depending on what our customers want. Our customer base is spread out all around the midwest though the majority of it is in Wisconsin. If you're from Wisconsin there is a high probability the traffic signs you see around the highway as well as most communities came from us (no, I don't work in the prison making traffic signs like my step-mom seems to believe). I came on here initially looking for some info for our new cutter and decided it wouldn't hurt to make an account since there seems to be a lot of info on this site that would take more time than I have today to read. I'm a moderator and long time member of a paintball forum so I'm somewhat aware of the inner workings of how forum communities work and what not so I figured it would be advantagous to be a member here since a lot of it is related to my work. I guess I'll leave it at that, looking forward to hanging out and seeing what I can learn that I haven't in the past almost 8 years doing this.
  9. First post but I'll skip the introductions and get right to the point. I'm trying to figure out what the differences are between cutting with a 30 degree blade and a 45. I've been working at a sign shop for almost 8 years now and we've always just ordered the same blades because that is what we've always used. Now we actually have a boss that is receptive to change and discussion about what works and what doesn't and it's a question that came up that I really don't know the answer to. We've always had issues with the quality of the cuts using a 30 degree CB15U blade cutting 3M Prismatic High Intensity and Diamond Grade material but have just accepted it as what it is.
