  1. I plan to put approximately 11 lines of text on .080 alum 4' by 3'. I can price the substrate, just curious how you would charge for the text to cover that size considering the amount of weeding.
  2. got it, thanks. Thanks... One more question about your chart. if you were making several signs for the same customer. would you total the sqin for all the signs before refering to your chart or go to the chart per sign.
  3. uh, maybe you made a typo. I think you meant to say 6.5 per sq ft??? or .065 cents per inch? $6.50 per sq in is $936.00 for 1 sqft.
  4. thanks for prompt reply, what is the method for pricing? sqft? line inch??
  5. you have to consider weeding. I typically charge 6.50 for a 2.00 shirt with a simple chest print and 12.00 for front and back. hope this helps.
  6. Why is custom size not a selectable choice in my print dialog? should it be? all other options are available, but not that one. Jason

Printing on vinyl with inkjet printer

Lot of good info here, I just bought the 1100 and tried printing on some oralite 5600 reflective material. It looked great up till the end where it smudged coming out of the printer and the curl in the paper messed it up. Also it has been about an hour and it is not dry at all. Any advice appreciated. I am trying to make some reflective decals for a customer. This material is supposed to be inkjet friendly? Do I need to apply a flat laminate prior to printing? is that even possible? Jason

    How I do shirts quickly

I got it at Home Depot or Lowe's. It was only $14, I plan to add one more so I can also have a vertical line. They work great for applying graphics to cars because it has a magnet in the bottom. http://www.lowes.com/pd_247679-70-BDL220S_0__?productId=1070395&Ntt=black+and+decker+laser&pl=1&currentURL=/pl__0__s%3FNtt%3Dblack%2Band%2Bdecker%2Blaser

    just getting started

I like all of it, but (here come the first but) I also shoot a lot and that barrel is going to get hot. I doubt that will hold up, although it looks great. After some serious shooting I'd like to know how the vinyl holds up.
  20. If you have one of the following, AC Moore or Michael's (both craft stores) have shirts in almost any color and size; 2 for $5, and sometimes $1.99 each. You can't beat that if you just need 1, 3, 5 or whatever. You just have to watch for the sales and scoop them up. They are great for smaller misc. orders you may get, but you will rarely find more than 25 of a color/size in stock. I have been using this method for about 9 months and been very happy with the instant availability. Now, I just got my first large order. 200 shirts, I am going to give Jiffyshirts a try on this one. Anyway, just felt like sharing. Jason

I would think JoAnnes would also have limited stock on hand, but yeah the price sounds good especially on the 2x. After searching, I found out Sanmar has a local wharehouse with will call. Can't beat that. Living in a port city has some advantages, tons of warehouses. Jason
