nice vid and great job!  what transfer paper are you using? i ask because i just went from oracal clear transfer to mz skeeters recommendation i got some main tape( NEKOOSA ) and its more of a paper not a plastic clear and i love it..that being said, i havent had a big job yet but have to do a trailer for a buddies siding windows and doors company, so as i watched your video i thought i was seeing you spray the transfer tape before you peel..what is the purpose of that?

I'm using RTape 4076-RLA.   I spray it mostly out of habit when I use to apply wet with rapid-tack.   It would take forever to dry and wetting the outside of the tape helped release it.

Now, as you can see, I apply everything dry.   since the tape is a high tack and it helps alittle.

nice - don't forget the gopro makes the best selfie camera for vacations!

Yep.   I want to start vlogging my car repairs also.  My 1st project is replacing the transmission in the SRT8 300.   I decided to trash itself a few weeks ago.

  3. I don't know what's going on but I have a order for Heather: Red, Blue, Green, pink, and purple.

I've been looking at all 3 of my vendors and they either don't have a color in any sizes or they don't have certain size.

Preferred vendor is Sanmar or S&S.    Preferred brands are Port and company or anvil.

Does anyone have a good lead on these heather shirts?

  4. This is my personal opinion.

You're starting off with WAY too much.    For example why do you need 15" and 24" paint mask?

    Going down the list......

    - Drop the cutting strips until you need them.   Graphtec is a super nice machine and you won't be cutting into the strip if you leave the sensors on.

    - Just get the 24" roll of paint mask if you're really going to use it. It sounds like you're most interested in shirts.   I'd stick with vinyl and shirt tell you learn the trade then dive into paint mask.

    - Drop the Poli-flex and just stick with the tried and true siser easyweed.

    - Drop the Orafol plotter sample pack, Oracal 631, and all the transfer tape you have in your cart.

-I'd get a 24" roll of Oracal 751 in black and white,  Few colors in 651,  Rtape 4076-RLA transfer tape (I like 30" wide rolls).    Learn on the basics: good vinyl, good paper transfer tape

Those would be my suggestions.   You'll get overwhelmed with all you've got going on.  It might look easy but just trying to apply transfer tape can be hard for a beginner.

It's not a stupid question. Even after being in object mode, the padlock was not visible. Only after restarting my computer and vm did it return. Why have This forum if you get answers from people like Humana? Don't worry, won't be asking here again.

Dude Chill...............   He was implying that HIS question was stupid when he was asking "What is it"

He was asking what lock you're talking about.

Speaking of back ups...What programs are you all using for auto back-ups?

I would sure like to find one that will back up automatically every night.

    TIA

    Sue2

Allways Sync is a kick ass program.   You can schedule backups to ANYTHING. You can also backup in real time.

It'll completely sync an drives or folders.

I use it to sync everything business with my harddrive, dropbox, USB drive, and backup network drive.

Off topic.... Nice work by the way! I LOVE the LED signs. But how is Etsy going for you? I have got to look into making some extra money and start pushing my stuff more.

    TIA

It's been OK.   I really haven't been putting much effort into it.   I've made about 18 sales on my 28 listings.  The more I look at it the more I think these types of signs are really only going to sell during the Christmas holiday.   I may pickup a sale from someone looking to give a birthday present but that's about it.   It's a great platform but you really have to do your homework and you HAVE to have a niche.  Etsy has grown too much for you to be selling the same things as everyone else.

  8. I gave up on inkjet printers because I never used them enough to keep the heads from clogging.   I switched to this and LOVE it.

I never have to worry about clogged heads again.   It can sit for months and still works great.  Yea toner is more expensive but at my current rate it's going to be another few years before I need to buy toner.

Jeff, not sure if you found it but I did a quick trace on it for you. Its not perfect but its a start.

    Thanks Nero.

I ended up just getting a good trace and sent it off to get printed.   The customer loved it.

  10. I'm trying to vector this logo and I have NO idea what the font is for Inspired. I've been ask to do vehicle magnets for the whole company but the Marketing director is a big pain to work with. She has no idea what the fonts are.

Also how did they do the line under it in the brushed stroke?

    Thanks for any help.

  11. I have a company that needs temporary signs for their trailers.  Something along the lines of a car magnet but the problem is the of course the trailer is aluminium.

Does anyone have any ideas what could work?    I don't think coloplast signs and suction cups would last very long because they'll be driving around with them on.

They just need something with their logo, phone #, and CRC #.

  12. I've learned to do it a different way without the need for extra tools.

I have my transfer tape setup so it unrolls with the sticky side up.   I roll the long graphics up and only stick about 1-2' down onto the transfer tape and squeegee it down from the back of the graphic.  from there I just have to pull more tape out, roll the graphic out, and squeegee the back.   Doing it this way you don't need a crazy wide table.

I've done a 12' long graphic this way and it was so easy.  After I'm done I'll flip everything over so the transfer tape is up and I'll squeegee it again just for good measures.
