not sure of your question. first, you dont put the roller through the hole in the vinyl roll to "mount" it, you set it on top of the 2 rollers. afa feeding straight, the pinch rollers have little or nothing to do with it, you need to line the vinyl up straight using BOTH of the rulers on the front and back of the machine.

i didnt make them, so i cant say for sure, maybe the op will clear it up, but i dont think the stripes are angled. i think teh ends are 90 deg, and its just the angle of teh hood making an optical illusion that they appear angled out.

Because the line from the 2 pieces will create a line bubble, not on small things but if your doing stripes or something more solid you will see it so clarify "small things" if im doing something with one solid piece of vinyl that it 4'x8', yeah thats big. but if im doing a 4'x8' lettered sign, and the letters were, say, 3 rows of 16" letters, would that be "big" or "small" since each individual place where the over lap would be would only be about 8-10" long tops??

i have no idea about the timer, but afa the cutter issue, make sure its set to the correct port in the setup menu.

i just threw one in with my squeegee and app tape order, as well as a new blade holder. i too was befuddled at the fact that there were 2 sizes of grommets, but only one size die.

ive heard this before, that overlaps will make air bubbles. i dont understand it. as long as the app tape is applied properly without any air bubbles in the lapped area, how would it make any difference than a solid piece?? ??

on the attached file, i have gotten it to look like i want it to look, however, im having trouble making it cut like i want it to cut. the red dots are just my alignment marks. the black is supposed to be cut out showing the white vehicle behind it. there is to be no white, although having it there really isint a problem, i just wont cut it. (although it would be nice to have it "right") the problem lies in the fact that i want the blue rings cut so they are on top and bottom of the black oval. not full rings going underneath it. ive tried to punch through, but then i lose the middle parts of the letters (in the D, R, A, ect..) ive tried to weld, but then it just all turns blue. i dont want someone to do this for me, just a quick rundown of how im supposed to do it for myself. thanks ALERTDATA.SBD ALERTDATA.SBD

thanks! so, punch it without the text, then punch the text after? i think it may have actually been a program error. i was working on another one right after this, and i tried to resize it, and it would only select 3 of the 5 objects, no matter what i did. i restarted the program, and then i could select all. im thinking maybe this was also the deal with this?? i didnt try to punch through without the text, but it was still odd to me that it took out the middles of the letters when i tried it? ill have to try again to see if it works any better next time. and this time ill do it before i add the text.

in signblazer?? idk. id vectorize the image in inkscape into b+w, then save it as an eps and import that into sb, if it were me. btw, check out the stickies in the sb, inkscape, and gen knowledge sections here. thats all i did to learn this stuff. there are GREAT video walk throughs that are done so well youd have to be a brain dead moron to not get it. the members here are much better than i at teaching and articulating ideas and explain it as well as humanly possible, maybe even more so!!

i can completely agree with jimmy on this. i have also fallen victim to the same types of faulty products. 2 years ago, i bought a used chevy chevette with dreams of competing in the nhra top fuel funny car national finals. i spent most of my life saving and had to cash in my 401k to raise the necessary funds to travel and compete. much to my dismay, this dismal failure of a vehicle did nothing to help me stay competitive in the top fuel class. why would a manufacturer put out this kind of garbage knowing that it wouldnt win any sanctioned funny car races?? its completely irresponsible, and needs to be dealt with, asap. ive made numerous calls to their corporate headquarters, and they refuse to reimburse my life savings and 401k losses.

yeah, i saw a table at the harrisburgh pa gun show like that, he had eurepean deer mounts (bare skulls) done in different cammos where the antlers were left natural, some old helmets, and some rims and motorcycle tanks. i wonder if it was the same guy?? its not too far away from ny.

i have always set grommets with a hammer. never even knew they sold those here. i agree, for 1000 grommets, its almost like the press is free, you cant go wrong, imo.

lol, yeah, that would be a very good idea. i had to ask that myself and i too have used the search function on this and many other forums like this. i have been looking fro threads that i KNOW were there, and still had to search for hours to find them, the search function is not always an end all answer, even for faq's.

just for a little fyi... there is a lot more to making a miniature ic engine than just miniaturizing all of the parts. while its easy to scale down every part in the engine to make a mini one, its pretty hard to scale down the atomized fuel, or the oxygen particles in the air. its not just a matter of making the engine smaller, it literally has to be completely re-engineered. and then to fit it all in an identical casing really is a huge feat. it really is more amazing than you think it is.

on the software, no worries, its all right here and free. inkscape and signblazer should be all you need. especially if your sticking to text. i have photoshop 7 that i use to make images to cut, but thats not necessary for text. also not necessary if you plan on using premade graphics and eps files.

lol, this was my first question as soon as i unpacked mine as well. i was told to remove the masking tape, which i did there is a cutter strip under the masking tape that you dont remove, so dont get too carried away ripping things off !!

what i do is go to inkscape, and when you open the trace window, under multiple scans, click on color, then set the number of scans to the number of colors you want. the lesser colors, the more it will group close colors together, meaning that it should even out the flames to one color. then save as an eps. after that, it goes to the cutter program. there are videos here on making registration marke and layering graphics much better than i can ever explain it, check out the stickies in the tutorial section.

yeah, i use 4x6" envelopes, and 9x11" envelopes. whatever dosent fit in the bigger one goes in a tube.

i would think one wouldnt be needed since its pretty much common sense, if you screw up the install, its your fault. but with the way things are now, its probably a good idea. unfortunate for it to be that way, but such are the times we live in.

i dont know if theres a setting for this to do it from the pc, but yes, thats what mine does. i just have to get up off my ass and set my new origin after each cut.
