Got new Copam 2500 - having problems - HELP!!
edge replied to WantingVinylCutter's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Are both of these programs on the same computer? If so, is it possible for you to uninstall the Signgo to determine if there is a conflict between it and SignBlazer. I had an issue of a similar nature with SignCut and Signblazer that was resolved by isolating them. -
Do I have to manually illuminate by some means unknown to me the laser for a contour cut? I

Copam help-start and end points not meeting
edge replied to tweetheartdesign's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
What you describe in the above quote, tells me the vinyl is skewed during initial insertion. If you find the vinyl tracking to the left as above, you can release the left roller tension and retard the left side insertion or vise versa for the right side. Play around with correcting the tracking by this means and you'll get a better understanding of how that works. However....This should not produce the problem you initially described. My Copam 2500 with SignCut uses 0 offset. -
I still occasionally struggle to vectorize some images to my satisfaction; due in part to this being a part-time hobby, not an occupation for me. Some time back I read a request for urgent help to vectorize something for a job quote on this forum. At the time I bit my tongue and went on to other threads. I'm sure there are varied opinions here with regard to this....Should someone expecting to profit from this type of work be adapt at performing the tasks it requires? Or do most here think it acceptable to request major assistance enabling profit for a job over one's head?

What happens if you set the rewind after forward feed at a value just less than the forward feed value? Example: Forward feed value of 5.00, Rewind value of 4.85.

Copam help-start and end points not meeting
edge replied to tweetheartdesign's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
If the end points are overlapping, but not connecting. Are you giving the vinyl feed enough slack to prevent excessive drag? Is it possible the pinch rollers are allowing the vinyl to slip? Insert and lock the vinyl in; then give it a slight tug to see if this is the case. Just gave mine a brief look in a dimly lit situation, thought I spied adjustment screws for tension purposes, if this is your problem. Then again if the end points are not overlapping, but rather coming up short; it could also be in the stepper motor circuit. -
Night Excretement Flow Specialist assigned to monitor and control product egress in an orderly fashion while maintaining expedient discharge in wastewater treatment. It was the pension that drew me to the occupation, but I've since grown to appreciate this career choice. Even in these times, the business has experienced phenomenal growth rates with minimal risk of pooping out.

Geez...and I thought John & Kate Plus 8 was overdramatic last nite. This thread brings new light to that perspective. In any event DIARY OF A MAD BLACK CUTTER will require additional editing prior to publishing. Didn't mean to interrupt, yes I did; you all can go back to debating who misunderstands more now.

Exactly

Using ver 2.21. Goto Settings > Cutter. In the lower right side of window "Forward feed after cutting" and below that will be "Rewind after forward feed". Mine is default @ 5.906 and 4.724 respectfully. Hope this helps.

The few shirts I've done, I suggest to the individual it's intended for; to place the logo on the left side if it's too small to be centered. Bottom line though...one ultimately places it where they want it.

3) The throat on my bandsaw does not easily facilitate this long of a roll.....so I got the chop saw with the general purpose blade out. Figured I'd make a mess of things so I set-up outside of the workshop. Much to my surprise...I got a pretty clean cut, once I allowed the blade to spool up to speed. I did then attempt to run a short end thru the band saw with a narrow fine blade. Apparently with the friction, ended with a buildup of vinyl on the blade, which in turn caused even greater effort to cut. I supposed the best cut would be obtained, by laying the roll out and cutting via straight edge and razor knife if one had the space and patience. Never thought they'd send this much vinyl as a sample.

If you're Corel is version 12 or newer, once you have it, SignCut, and the plotter driver installed; you should see a rocket in the upper toolbar of Corel that is used to "launch" the project to SignCut. As I understand SignCut, you will either need to get connected to the net, live with the limited version sans weeding tools, etc... , or pay xtra to purchase the dongle version to cut with it without an internet connection.

vinyl doesn't pull evenly through the machine
edge replied to mtgraphix's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Is it pulling against tension from the roll? Anytime there is a long cut; after measuring the vinyl, I'll use the arrow key to run the roll thru the rollers to insure it's tracking straight and unspool (is that a word?) a portion of the roll. -
What was the ambient temperature or perhaps I should ask how cold was the window?

Have you since removed and performed a complete reinstalled of Corel X3? Will SignIt X2 launch for you?

If you are referring to the Raindrop; US Cutter site states".....it includes a laser alignment system that will offer future contour cutting ability..." does it currently contour cut? I have a CraftRobo in addition to the Copam. I agree the included software has limitations...however CutMaster or whatever it's called launches well from Corel X3 which enables cutting the various formats like EPS, AI, CDR, as examples.... Had the Raindrop been offered at the time I purchased the CraftROBO, I would have given it a serious look as it has some good attributes. I am not too keen on the grit feed with a single? roller for contour though.
