  1. I had a sample of Oracal 631 and this came out great and weeded so easily, then I cut the design in Shinerite because I wanted it to have a longer outside life, but can not get the letters to stay down as I weed. Maybe this roll got to hot in transit or something? Maybe I don't know what I am doing (big possibility here)...any comments...how long with 631 stay on a car window? will 651 give me the same problems as the Shinerite? any suggestions would be appreciated..thanks, Beth
  2. I have a friend who wants to display car monograms for customers to pick from ....how do you do this? I was thinking a piece of acrylic, but that could be expensive, so I'm open to any ideas...thanks,b

    Serious prayers needed

Thank you all for the prayers and kind thoughts....I will be back on the board as I get thing taken care of here.
  4. Hi Blugirl, I have the same cutter and it took me a while to get the blade adjusted right, I was tearing vinyl and making a mess...there is a drawing in the instructions files that helped me get the blade in the right position...about it not cutting at all, if it is against either red button that is the emergency stop...hit the online button and then the arrow and it will move away from it...move it to the right edge of your vinyl and hit the button in the center of the arrows with the kind of crosshairs design on it, that will mark that as the starting place on the vinyl, then put it back online...hope this helps...b

    Any & all dog breeds

cutting the logo of animal adoption groups for them to use as advertising is a good way to use your cutter to give back to the community...I foster for a local chihuahua rescue and it gets their website address out when the logos are on members cars....now with so many people having financial problems and more dogs having to be taken in, it really helps for just a little of your time and vinyl....

    Idea!

some school systems "retire" their school buses and sell them for $500-800 dollars....you could be the "Sign Bus"
  12. The local high school is having a band festival and has asked if I want to set up and tent and sell decals....I thought I'd come up with about 6 or 7 music designs that can be personalized with high school name or students name and then do some car monograms....has anyone done this? I thought I'd take one person to help weed and if it gets too far ahead of me I will mail decals ....any suggestions or ideas? Sorry for all the questions, and I really appreciate the help you have all given me....
  13. I plan to charge $8 for the 6x6 decal and $10 for and 8x8...check out this site http://www.girlytwirly.com/carmobust.html they get $18 for a 5x6 and that is the price most of the "personalization" sites are charging. My daughter's put theirs on the lower left of the back windshield, but I've also seen the 8x8 in the middle top of the back windshield. I'm hoping that with a "captive" crowd and a few band designs I can make some money...
  14. Hi all...I am fairly well established in the custom button market of pageants as Bee's Buttons. (www.beesbuttons.com) What would you suggest for me to do? Just add "and decals" to the logo? Come up with 2nd name for vinyl work? Mostly I plan to market my vinyl to the pageant crowd....thanks in advance for your contribution! b I'm attaching my logo to help you see what I already have... First Store Front

really smart way to get started....you know some people might want to have a car decal of their tattoo. You might want to add that to your display inside.
  16. Here is what I learned, my blade was out a little too far and the white vinyl I was using to test the cutter has been mishandled or just a bad batch.....I've been very successful at cutting the other cutters after getting the machine set up....thanks everyone who made suggestions...b
  17. By using the videos posted in this section, along with advice from questions I asked AND from using the search function in message board areas that I had questions I have gotten up and running! Thanks to everyone, and just use the search and think of different keywords that might bring up a topic that you need answers to and it works wonders....!!!

    PLEASE HELP!!

Did you find the answers you were looking for on this board? Did you get a cutter? As a quilter and embroiderer I am familiar with the programs and the fonts that you can use for sewing. Right now I have not located a font that works into a circle, but some of the more ornate scripts (like brock script) just need to be typed out then the letters sized differently for the monograms. I'd be glad to help you move from sewing to what I know about vinyl monograms (although I'm still learning about the vinyl stuff)...just let me know.

  20. Maybe I didn't put this question the correct way, should there be so much difference in the vinyl sticking to the backing for weeding between the two brands, or could I possibly have a roll of ShineRite that was mishandled and hasn't held it's stickyness?
