I brought home my laptop from my day job, it is running windows 7 32bit and flexi ran fine on it. Just finishing my 4th job since installing Win7 and have had zero issues with it. Im a happy camper for sure.
-
got it installed and have cut three logos for a customer. Runs fine and I think it is quicker now than it was on XP. I have to say I am very impressed with Windows 7. Im a linux/unix guy but win7 has impressed me.

im going to load flexi 8.1 on my windows 7 64bit tonight. i will report back what I find.

I have my cutter sitting on two 1x4's. I did not have the option of moving the cutter wifey said it had to be in the office.
-
if you get it figured out let me know. I would rather use just linux if possible.

talked to a person at HH sign supply and was told the mactac MACmask is not designed for automotive paint. I ordered some R-Tape ProGrade paint mask from earl mich they were very helpful in answering my questions. Also the prograde is designed for automotive paint.

Sorry to hear that, good luck with the venture.. I am beginning to wonder if I am going to be in the same boat. My company announced yesterday that they are closing another store, we had 6 now we will be down to 2. I do field service on wide format printers (ink and toner) for them but it they keep closing locations not sure if they will need me. I am the last technician, we had 8 a year and half ago.

I had another thought on the drive home, does anyone know if mactac paint mask is ok to use with solvent paints? Since automotive paint is solvent based, I don't want to have an issue with the mask and the paint. thanks. achappy

+1 The clear ruined my 6' stencil of a dandelion, after about 2 hours of weeding not to mention several days of work and preparation.... That would suck. I am cutting a graphic that a friend of mine is going to put on his Carbon Fiber hood then he is going to paint the entire hood the body color. then peal the mask and clear. the hood he got has some messed up weave on one side of the hood. so we came up with this solution. the vendor refunded his money and told him to keep the hood. is there a 'clear' application tape that works well? I have heard so many bad stories about it.
-
thanks for the response, I dont use clear so that works out well.

What application tape would work best with mactac paintmask? Or any paint mask vinyl for that matter. I may get oracal 810 or 813 if I like the way this works. its just the mactac is alot cheaper and im kinda low on capitol right now. The reason I am asking is I am in need of some paint mask for a customer project, I cut he applies and paints. I also airbrush but as of now all my work has been freehand or with freehand stencils, there is a project that I want to do that having paint mask would help a ton.

Thanks I will post up tonight the 'new' logo they finalized on. I think it looks much better. I bought this car as a commuter car, I have a 35mile communte each way everyday to my day job, and I fell in love with it. I have done a ton of work to it. i take my nice wheels off for daily driving but I have a set or 20's that fit the wheel wells perfectly. it is a fun car that is really cheap to work on.
