  1. In the Device Manager

    1. Right click the Com6 Port and select properties

    2. Select the port settings tab in the Communication Port Properties window

    3. Click advanced

    4. Go ahead and select an alternate COM port number (ideally COM 1 - 4) - MAKE SURE YOU DON'T SELECT A PORT MARKED "IN USE"

While your on the Communication Port Properties page you should confirm these settings

    Bits per second: 9600

    Data bits: 8

    Parity: None

    Stop bits: 1

    Flow Control: Hardware

Hit ok and close everything out making sure that the new settings set. Go back to your cutter software and select the port you assigned and all should be well. The same port settings you confirmed in the Communication Port Properties page need to be confirmed within your cutter software as well.

  2. Have you tried importing using a different file format besides .eps ? Signblazer can be funny especially with large .eps files I have noticed. If you can try a different format and let me know if that helps you I would appreciate that.

  3. You guys really drink this serial port "kool aid" ... The serial port is a viable port and I don't believe there is any difference between the two types of ports. As far as the technology behind them USB is the winner hands down. USB has not really been given a fair shake in the cutter world because very few cutters, maybe 3 that I can think of, actually use a full implemntation of USB. Most of these cutters are using a serial controller with a USB converter.

Still my main point is un-shakeable, USB is easier to troubleshoot and understand what is wrong if there is an issue of connectivity. I understand the "Status Quo" folks who have had their serial ports plugged in for as long as you can remember but that doesn't mean something is good or better. Heck that means the serial port is just doing what it is supposed to do. If something were to say happen to your serial port, some kind of damage, you would loose connectivity but your computer would not say a thing to you. 9 times out of 10 if there is an issue with USB the device is going to throw an error and alert you. That is a worth while feature and it cuts down on time to figure out what is wrong, period.

  4. It lays flat, if you want to pre-cut graphics and ship them, you will have no issues.

It comes in clear and classic. The clear is comparable to the AT-60 and has a static free surface. The classic is comparable to the 4075RLA. It completely blows away the 4075RLA in all categories of quality. It does not seperate or string up. The US Cutter Classic Transfer Tape does not leave a residue whatsoever.

    Widths are available 11/2" to 30" x 100 Yards

I know that it is just transfer tape and there is not that much too it, but what there is our new offering dominates all competition. Plus it is cheaper!

Additionally it is now our default tape and will be included in all of our kits.

  5. USB for me is the best from the standpoint of troubleshooting. It is not a passive port like a serial port it presents a user with feedback if it is operational and the lack of that feedback is an indicator of an issue. A serial port could have an issue and you would never know if it was the port or the device connecting to it until you moved through the process of elimination.

From the standpoint of avoiding these freezes, slash cuts, and phantom cut lines... Well I don't know, simply because I have seen these on both serial and USB connections. Later this year when we start shipping cutters with actual USB controllers things will get even better ... Whether you use the USB or Serial connection you are still passing through a serial controller... The USB connection is just a converter at this point and not a controller. So your not really receiving any of the benefits of a USB connection at this point.

  6. Have you called in to support 1-888-298-8143 ... This could be a hardware issue, if the USB Serial port is not appearing in the device manager. Please try a different USB port on the back of your computer while watching the device manager for changes first. If that does not get it please try a different USB cable. If nothing still shows up please call me ... 1-888-298-8143 X113

  7. Thanks for the Credit... I did some more looking into your issue and I have tried your issue with like multiple different printers at this point and I am getting results that confirm our conclusion and findings... I am really interested in this issue please post anything further you find out and I am glad we were able to move forward with our fix. How is everything going as of now?

  8. This biscuit type fan is easily replaceable... You can purchase this type of fan in any Radio Shack and you do not even need to reference the manufacturer. However you should bring in your original fan just to match it up as well as possible. You want at least the same CFM's and if you can get one with a bit more silent operation to cut down on noise levels.

    Hope this helped...
