  1. if the cutter wont work on a hub, then why not plug the cutter in and put the mouse and dongle on the hub?

I tried that for a while and my dongle loses connections every so often and my LXi would freeze because if it.. I lost a few projects I was working on because I failed to save them every so often as I work on them.

  2. My cousin is in the Army and getting into the 75th and has asked if I can make these for him. I played with it in Inkscape and got it close but need it to look cleaner. Maybe someone already has this or just the banner I will match the text and add that in myself please and thanks.

  3. I guess I don't understand what is so difficult about the clings. Can someone give me some more insight on what is so difficult. This are going to be very temporary displays but I haven't read anywhere what is so difficult.

  4. I just had a customer present me with the opportunity to print some advertising pieces for him. He wants them to be printed on static cling wrap. I have no experience with this and was hoping someone could lead me in the direction of what I need to get started as far as a printer and material. The widest I would need to print would be around 14" and the longest length would be maybe 24". I need to know what I need as far as sealing the ink to the cling and what not. I have all the software I think I would need as he has a different Graphics guy designing all the wraps I just to be able to accept the file and print them on the sheets or rolls of Cling however they come and get them back to the gentleman to be shipped out. I have read alot on the WF1100 and would like to use that as I am a fan of Epson but will this printer do what I am after. Also can I use this to print on vinyl stickers......??

  5. I have a photo of the S10 Blazer I took and import it into my LXi to show what the text will look like on there. My question is what is the best way to get the text to follow the arc at the top of the window. I want to match my text to the arc. Should I make my workspace the same size and the window and to it that way so it stays at scale or is there a general rule or formula to use to get the desired effect I am looking for?

  6. I have a few on file but none of them are cuttable. My Mother In Law just had to bury her horse a few weeks ago and would like an in memory type thing. I created this for her and she really liked it but the horse head just isn't cooperated. I think it is too "detailed" and doesn't want to weed. Maybe if someone has something similar to this or can tell me how to make the horse head cut right I would be greatly appreciative. She really emphasizes on having a cowgirl figure as I have some nice cowboys kneeling at a cross with the horse(that I found here THANK YOU AGAIN) I will even take some insight on how to create what I want on my own as I am still learning how to create graphics from nothing. I thank you in advance for any help!!

  7. I have 3 machines that I use all working on USB. I am looking for a hub or other solution to have all of these plugged in at once as I am constantly getting error messages saying I have failed to plug in my device (due to something else being plugged in). I have 3 ports on my laptop however 2 of them are in constant use my the dongle key for my LXi and Mouse. That leaves me always switching my machines between. I know everyone says not to use Hubs with these devices but am wondering if anyone has and if they could share their experience good or bad. It is a laptop so I don't have the option to use the serial port and I have a few towers I could bring in just no funds to buy a monitor at this time. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

  8. Sorry but no experience with win7. Could be permission changes, anti-virus conflicts or even a failing hard drive. I had similar problems with this very desktop until I replaced the failing power supply. But that did affect more than a single program...

First (and only) thing I could suggest would be to update to the latest version .48.2-1. It's amazing the things they add and/or fix from one version to the next :P

If noone else here has a similar problem with win7, then asking over at insckape.org may be the only other option?

Thank You I went to Inkscape and downloaded the new version I will see what happens in a few weeks.. Thanks for the input

  9. Dollar for Dollar the best thing to do is find a window tinter who will train you. you can get and do it all by hand its a much better fit and cheaper to cut by hand. The worst part is learning how to shrink the film to fit the glass. I have done it for a while and am still learning and I have worked with some of the best tinters in the country.

  10. This is the 4th time now I have had to reinstall Inkscape. It works fine for about 2 months then I have to uninstall and reinstall. When I go to open inkscape I get an error saying it was unable to open correctly please click ok to close program... Is anyone else having this issue?
