    3M Scotchprint 1080 Carbon Fiber

I bought some from a guy and used it to wrap a couple cell phones and and a laptop. Stuff is really sweet. Wish I had the funds to order a roll. Where did you get it? All my local suppliers only have 54" rolls and won't cut it down.

Love the new Iphone rubber cases

Someone needs to make this for the Thunderbolt... I could sell them left and right!!
  3. THUMBS UP on doing some research!!! If grounding it does not work go to a serial connection if available if not a keyspan will suffice. I recommend to everyone buying an older XP machine that has a serial port and using that for cutting. I did it about 6 months ago and haven't had a lick of trouble. Got a really nice dell for $45 with a flat panel monitor now I just got into a HP 700n. Still an older XP unit but I only have $15 into the tower and I ordered more RAM for it from Amazon for $7 super happy and have not had an issue at all with my cutter. I even am able to utilize more of the features of my cutting software (FlexiSign) with the serial connection. Before when I was using a USB connection the "show me" buttons in my production manager never did anything also when contour cutting I couldn't move the carriage on the cutter with the on screen controls.

need help choosing cutter and material.

If you need super tight detail the only way to go is a Graphtec. The entry level machines and even some up the step up units just can't compete with the Graphtecs. I kick myself every time I have to cut detailed objects with mine 2 or 3 times with my "Entry level" machine before they are right. I will have a Graphtec by the end of summer. I know a few people who have ok luck with the Pcuts but all in all Graphtec is the way to go. That is my .02

Please price this according to your area

I get that a lot also but at what I charge I feel very good with it and they customer is always very happy with my work. The only complaints I get is after the customer tries to install and mess it up. They always come back and tell me it was something I did wrong LOL depending on their attitude I will either cut a new one for half or just give it to them. Of course that is once I have proof the 1st one is actually ruined.

If you are still making money and covering your bills I wouldn't adjust your price. If you are happy with selling them at the price you are then keep them there. If your price all of a sudden doubles then that could prove to be very bad for business.

    Event Wrist Bands

Sorry I'm feeling lazy today and the business card is all the way across the room at my desk and I am on the couch with the laptop LOL. I posted it in my other topic this morning I will post the link to that discussion. I believe its the 6th or 7th one down. The lady was very very helpful and the sample sheet she sent me ran through my WF 1100 flawlessly no hang ups or jams at all. (although I only ran 4 sheets through) The rolls they offer unless you have an actual label printer there isn't a whole let you can do. They come in just a single roll on a 1" core and they are the more water resistant style like what the hospital would print off. I am ordering just a few boxes of the regular tyvek ones in fluorescent colors. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/36371-need-a-printable-version/page__fromsearch__1

    Event Wrist Bands

Has anyone ever done any event wristbands? I have a customer who wants me to run off 2000 bands for an upcoming deal. I have found some Tyvek ones like you see everywhere but are they inkjet printable. I don't see much info anywhere online.

I would be at $90 for the vinyl (I charge $10/sq. ft cut weeded and masked) and since it is 2 colors I would probably charge $5 each to layer them. That is my normal off the street price. I usually don't stray to far from that price as most everyone who orders anything from me always comes back for more because the quality and service they get from me compared to other places in town.

    Constructive Criticism on my 'Logo'

I am in that same boat I hate how long it takes for my Flexi to start because of loading all of them. I have my cutting machine set up to open Flexi at startup so when I get in in the morning I just hit the power button and later on when I need to start cutting everything is up and ready.

I have a few of them and I know I got all them here from going through the requests section. This is one of them I can remember right now.BDYBLDB1.eps

Where to purchase large metal sign material...

It's even cheaper to find a steel supplier in your area get a blank sheet in the gauge you want and paint it yourself or have it powder coated. I have done a few large signs and find it is cheaper to go this route. You could even search your area for a "Tin Knocker Shop" and see what kind of price they can offer.

    Best Desktop printer.

I just orderd a sub kit for my 1100 so I don't want to use that for everyday flyers and cards I print. I have a canon MP495 and I am tired of how much of a pain it is to fill the color ink all the time. I want a nice all in one inexpensive unit to print my everyday type stuff on. I print a ton of flyers and hand them out. I am running off 200 flyers now and have to keep stopping to fill the ink. I know its because I bought a cheap refill kit but its still a pain. I print tons and tons of business cards and other things on this every week. Should I go to an inkjet maybe? What do you guys use? I don't need bluetooth or any of that just a simple scanner copier printer that I can run stuff through when I need instead of having to refill ink every time I go to use it.

    Best Desktop printer.

I highly recommend this printer to anyone looking for a nice all in one. The touchscreen is my only complaint its not real responsive but not that big of a deal since I do most everything from the computer anyhow. The prints are AMAZING. Printed a couple photos I had and I am very impressed with quality. I used just the cheap sample paper they supplied so I am really excited to run some good paper through it. I ran a single sheet of business cards through it on the heavier card stock I use and they look great. No ink bleed on the edge and the colors are truly bright and vivid. I am going to tinker with the 2 sided print here shortly but wanted to post an update. http://www.staples.c.../product_896997

    Name that vinyl?

The best I can explain is it's like they printed the design on aluminum foil. It is very tough to work with cuts bad doesn't conform to shapes very well and forget about trying heat and wrap anything with it. I haven't used the Oracal yet but would assume it is like all of their other products and would be the way to go.

http://www.uscutter.com/ORACAL-383-Ultraleaf-Cast-ORS383 ? I know there are other versions available but I can tell you from experience they are junk.... I haven't used this yet but have some logos for a volunteer fire department coming up I think I am going to try it

    RIPing with Designjet 800

I'm hoping that would be a last resort. I am printing the entire Flexi manual now hoping there might be something good in there.

    RIPing with Designjet 800

If I print with it in Flexi as a printer it looks pretty good but if I select Rip and print it is very dull and boring. I tried to use color collection but it tells there are no ICC profiles for this machine. I print the same exact image on my 1100 and it's even better. I am stumped on this. Does it sound like a driver issue? I am going to get a parallel cable later and try that and eliminate the USB to it. I am sure there has to be a tweek somewhere I can try just haven't found it yet. Any ideas? I just did a test print in Production Manager and it looks great.... Just my image I am trying to rip looks dull and boring when RIPing

Can someone please vector this for me?

Looks pretty good. I would eliminate a few of the open spots. Like under the birds "elbow" the toe nails, the outline in the G, In between the G and the R, in the B, and in between the R and the O... If this is going to just be one large cut it would be ok but if it's something that is going to but cut smaller and run a large quantity those little spots will make for a long day of weeding.
