As it turned out, the black looked pretty good. The frosted was a little hard to read

I have a daycare client that would like the room names lettered on the glass doors. They have requested black letters. I'm not sure how readable the black letters would be. Has anyone used black on glass before? I plan on making a sample and showing them before cutting all the room names. They wanted something less 'commercial' than white. I was thinking frosted might look 'upscale' like they want.

Both of our kids are adopted through the Nebraska Children's Home Society (www.nchs.org) They are a 116 year old organization that offers the nation's only no cost adoptions. In addition to providing services and counseling for adoptions, they provide parenting services, low cost day care, and foster care programs. Everything they do is supported by donations. Looks like the Colemen or Cezanne could be it. I'll have to blow them up and take a much closer look.. At first, I thought they were identical, but they are not. Cezanne is a bit more chiseled, Coleman, a bit softer... I'll also have to pull up the original photo too. Edit: After a few minutes in Inkscape, its looks like Cezanne is the better match. Thanks guys!

This is on a jeep hood, I cleaned up a pic of it, to vector, but he wants some other text in the same font as well.

The door it not black. The door is a full lite glass door. The door and frame are sort of a brownish gray. The lettering would be on the glass.

That's what I'll do for the next time. If it was permanent application, I'd redo it... But since I'm done fundraising on June 4, I'll probably leave it as good enough...

This is just a quickie I threw up on the back of the jeep for the next couple weeks.. How do you do black on tinted windows? The mustache almost disappears...

I've done it a few times on accident, so yes its possible. you just set the blade 'too deep' on the MH cutters, there are two cutting strips, one for regular cutting, and one for cut through...

I have a client that wants their logo in Purple (ie Oracal 404), but it is going on drywall, so I should use 631, but they don't make 404 in 631. any options? They don't want violet, they want purple. how tough is it to remove 641 from drywall?

I'm already buying white for the project, so that's probably how I will go, and leave a small white border.

Why didn't I think of that? Should I do an exact overlay, or maybe leave a small white border? I'm not sure which would be easiest to layer.

I've been tasked with redoing a sign. This is what is started with. It is about 48" tall and 64" wide, green frame, backlit, double sided Clients didn't like it. This is the sign on another site, that they wanted the new sign to look like the old sign This is the mockup I did, and the client liked. They gave it to the original sign company to fix. The clients didnt like it once it was cut and installed, it was too hard to read. The main street it faces, is a 35mph street, and during they day, you can't read the sign in time to make the turn, And at night, it is actually worse. They used green, gold and purple translucent vinyl(I dont know exact colors until I get the panels into the shop.). I feel there isn't enough contrast between the green and gold. You can read the purple/white and green/white well enough. They cut the letters out of the green, and then laid a gold letter on top of the hole. There is about a 3/8" overlap. (one letter doesn't fit precisely inside the other) I think that is part of the legibility problem. They have asked me to redo the sign. I'm thinking the trans green is too light, and should be darker, and the gold is too dark, and should be lighter. That would give more contrast. I will also have the letters fit exactly into the 'hole'. What do you suggest?
