Thanks for sharing this with us. Is that Magic Eraser that Mr. Clean thing?

I like that!

I love me some boiled peanuts. This thread reminded me of one of my favorite Bizarro cartoons...

Thanks for this bump for all us newbies!

Looks like a great imagination at work there! I bet she has a cool story to go with it too...

That looks nice! How long did it take you to do both sides?

Post up a pic when you complete it!

Nice stuff! Will you fly up to NY? You might have a truck load it sounds like... Then you could take some citrus fruit with you too!

Good morning folks,
Hope y'all are having a great Tuesday so far. Just a quick question about the forum for a newbie please.
At the top right of my web page, to the left of my name is a couple of icons. I get the messenger icon and have actually used it a time or two.
There is a second icon, not sure what it is supposed to be, but there was a red flag on it this morning. How long it's been there I don't know. When I click on the icon I have a list of "notifications" that various members "liked a post..." This list goes back about a month. I clicked on them to see if I missed a comment or reply to a post I made. I don't think I had; I did see that the specific post was "liked" that it showed up in the post.
Is there something I need/should be doing in response to these? Is there a "secret society" of "post likers" that one is invited to join after so many? It's not like gang membership I hope, where you have to rob a convenience store or something to gain entrance...
Thanks for any enlightenment,
Cal

Thank you OW!

Thanks Scott,
SeeJay, I used a craft acrylic paint I picked up at Michaels and brushed it on. These solid colors were easy, the glitter paint I used on the sun visor mirrors was a little more problematic. That stuff just kinda globbed on... Finished product looked killer though!

Thanks for the kind words.

Thanks handyman, Monkey - shame on you for parting with such fine classics! I bought this one when I was a kid about 40+ years ago. After my son & I did the restore I gave it to him.
As for the technique on the back of the mirror, that was exactly what I did. Remember to reverse the image. It looks a lot better in person than in the pic...

Thanks, fellas for the comments & tips. I like 'em all...
edge, you made me doubt myself - even though I was using the pub's logo as my guide. I am going to say that the flag is correct, only that this doesn't represent a "whole" Union Jack, but rather a cropped version for the logo. That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it...

These are for my son's car; a '67 Firebird.
I did the simple etching to begin with. He was thrilled with them. Then I decided to try my hand at a reverse etching on the rear and applying paint. The red is a glitter paint and really sparkles. It is hard for me to describe his reaction to this second set...
BTW - if you have any tips for taking pics of mirrors, please share!

Now if I ever get a web site I won't violate anything by putting it in my sig. If I ever get a sig...
