Ok new problem now. I'm not able to import .dxf files any longer. It allows me to click on the file, but nothing get's imported.

The new US cutters come with Sure Cuts Alot Pro Design, is this offered as a replacement for those of us who got SBE since SBE is no longer being supported by the designer? I've recently upgraded computers again, to Window 8, and I'm now stuck with the trial wait period, registration notice, looking for updates.

It's never had a problem with this file until after changing the software to remove the nag.

Well it finally cut something. My new problem is that the cutter is stopping shortly after it starts now. It took 4 times to cut a 50x25 inch tile. It would get any where from 1/10th of the way done to 80% then just stop in mid cut.

Ok managed to get the new software installed and patch. So no more nag. But now my MH-1351 cutter is not listed. So now the software is useless. UGH

Ok, so I installed Magic disk to try and do this patch. It's not working under windows 8 just gives an error. What other software is there to do this with?

I'm working on it. But windows 8 is a PITA I have to get a trial of winrar to work right, then a trial of office to open the damn doc file. UGH.. This is PITA

Well I don't make money off this cutter, I use it for my hobby which is working on Pinball machines. I cut out paint stencils. Maybe 1 or 2 a year. That is when I can get the software to not crash in windows 8, or the cutter to not freeze up. It was a cheaper alternative to having a sign shop cut them for me. So I can't very well afford a ton of money on fancy software to make this thing work.

I'm trying to import a DXF file from Autocad but the scale is not correct.

Yeah that's a demo. What I'm asking is since SBE is no longer supported, and Scalp is the new software provided for everyone, why is it not available for those of us who purchased a cutter and got stuck with the SBE software.

It will only save as .DXF and .DWG I don't see any other options.

I'm not seeing the download for scalp, unless I purchase it.

I'm needing to make an imported bitmap 50% transparent so I can see to make an outline of objects. The help screen says there is a way, but I am not able to find it anywhere.

Is there a size limitation on Jpeg graphics? I've tried importing a Jpeg file that's 20 megs, and it won't import. It acts like it does, it even gives me the undo command. But nothing shows on the screen, I can't select anything, layer or otherwise. This also happens on .ai files, .bmp, .pdf. It's kind of on and off. Also half the time when I'm importing the software crashes. I've got a AMD quad core 3.8g, with 4 gig mem, and 1 terabyte of hdd space. So I don't think hardware would be an issue. I've tried saving the file in several formats but it hasn't helped. It's all graphics with no text. Or is SBE just not up to par with importing different file formats. I''ve been unsuccessful at importing any .AI, or .EPS file as will. It either acts like it does, and nothing shows up, or it crashes.

Bump.. No one is having problems importing? I've tried 3 different computer and still get the same thing.

I've got a 3 color stencil I am working on. Blue is bottom, red is middle, and black is top. Now I need to size them all, so I figure it was better to size them all together. I import all 3 into one, and I'm trying to figure out how to align the 3 before I go about sizing them. In Photoshop I can change the opacity of the layers to be able to see each when I move one. Can I do the same thing in SBE, or do I just have to make guide lines, and move each to the guidelines, and hope they line up since I can only see whatever layer is on top/up front. I would like to be able to see all colors at the same time. Thanks, Kevin

I'm having this same type of issue. I can cut one image, when it's done, I re-origin my vinyl, and load up the next image to cut. It trys to send the info to the plotter, but just sits there. I can't unlock the software, can't end program, unplugging the usb doesn't help. Or resetting the plotter. On option is to reboot the computer. I would try the other serial ports, but my computer only has USB ports. Kevin

I've seen a ton of good vinyl work on here, but it's hard to tell what cutter did the cutting. I'm thinking of getting the MH-1351 and would like to know what kind of detail cutting it's capable of. I'm going ot be creating stencils to repaint my arcade collection. Some games don't have much detail, just alot of straight angled lines, but some have 2mm small dots, or other small strange features. I'm attaching an image the dots on it, are 2mm to give you a size reference. Just want to make sure this cutter will do what I want before I get it. Thanks, Kevin

I'm going to be using the cutter to make paint masks for arcade games. Most of the games are typically 30"x60" So far I've only seen paint mask vinyl in a 30" and not a 34" where can I find low tack vinyl for paint masks in a 34" size. Also does this cutter handle longer 60" cutting very well. Thanks Kevin

Yes but my art work will be 30" wide. Which is why I was thinking I would need a 34" so that I would have a border.
