  1. I have a new Tempo Gerber Tempo 600 and remembered I had Flexi8.5 Starter and decided to load on to my computer. The problem that in the window for what make of cutters the program will be used on, it does not list Gerber Tempo 600, there are a few Gerber machines listed but not the one I have.

Has anyone encountered this and how did they correct it (is the Gerber Tempo 600) the same as the ones listed? Any help appreciated.

  2. Mz Skeeter, I don't think it did or I have overlooked something in the reading materials but first I will contact my seller in Mich and ask, I am also most sure it did not.  However, your replys have really been informational as my mind is racing and going from one gear to another.  I remember asking my agent, "By buying this bundle, does it have everything I need to start and get going?" His reply was, "Yes."  I have been cutting with a Stika 15 as a newbie and decided it was time to take a bigger step and upgrade.  Thanks again, Mz Skeeter...........

  3. Mz Skeeter, thanks for your response good information, I got the the Omega in a bundle, saw it in one supply store but their support and selling package did not impress me.  You answered my question to the T and yes Gerber sells it.  Whether, it was a really good price, I'll with more experience as I advance.  When I do get the Signcut version, i'll make sure the HP-GL command is initiated.  Again thanks a bunch for your response and information.

  4. I purchased an Omega Tempo 600 and what I have determined is that it is the same as a Graphtec 5000 series.  My question is, "Am I right?" Also,  I tried the trial version of Signcut and the cutter didn't respond.  I do like the features on Signcut cuts and would like to purchase the program.   Has anyone on the forum bought the Omega 600, what cutting program are you using on it?  And how do you like the Omega 600.  Any inputs would be appreciated......Thanks and have a great day........

  5. I live in Peoria, AZ about 3 miles from Luke, AFB and about a mile from the base there was an old school parked off the road for about 3 months.  Anyway, the bus was covered with decals all over it and the was a sign outside the advertised, "Decals made here."  I decided to stop and see what they had and what they used to vector.  They had NFL logos, car and truck, you name it.  They start on the coast in California and work their way to Mesa, AZ hitting RV parking spots like Quartzsite, AZ.  Snowbirds flock by the thousands during the winter and these guys hit the swap meets they have there.  The guy told me that if the Logo was changed by 10% it was legal, then yesterday at the RC Model field where I fly at- a man who is in business sllk screening and decal cutting told me the same thing.  He also said that if used for personal  it was OK but if the decals with logos were sold it was ilegal. I would think that it is copyrighted and not your design, well it doesn't belong to you.  I will research this topic and post my findings.  Thanks everyone for your postings. :bear:

  6. I have noticed that many people are building and selling corn hole game boards for sale.  Most of the game boards are decorated with decals of NFL logos or other popular logos on the market. Isn't this illegal?  How are these people getting away with imposing on copy righted logos?

I also want to build corn hole game boards and I can cut my own decals, but I sure don't want legal issues.  Your thoughts and advice apprecitated.

  7. dakotagrafx, I have per the instructions furnished by Gerber.  What I am going to try is uninstall and use your website to reinstall and see if that does the trick.  I suspect there is no communicated between the computer and plotter.

I'll keep adviced on how thing ops turns out.

    Thanks!

  8. I have a potential large shirt order of 100 or more a month. They want a simple design but want me to put my name on each shirt also, as a scratch our back we scratch yours deal. What would you guys and Gals do in this situation? and how / where would you put it ? I'm thinking about back bottom left side or maybe the sleeve but most are sweat shirts at this time. The customer was wanting me to put it right below the text on the shirt. I like to be seen but not that prominent. Let me know what you all think.

Are they wanting a discount for putting your name on the shirt?  I would really like if someone with years of establishment would post a reply to your question.  I am in the process of starting a business and would definitely learn from others who reply.  Thanks for your question looking for a good reply.

  9. Hello from Arizona,

I started cutting and making stuff for friends and personal decals.  There is lots to learn however I am lucky there are many out there with the same interest to share their experience.  There are many programs (software) out there and this question might hard to answer but what a good program to use to get started in the vinyl business, one that is inexpensive and easy to learn?  Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

  10. Looks good. Nice work.

Looks great simple but very nice.  What I like about your decal is that it is to busy.  I was working on one and had to redo because it had to much clutter.  I am fairly new to decal cutting.  I noticed you use perforated film, question what machine are you using and what is the advantage of using perforated film, my guess is to facilitate overlapping if you have multiple colors.  Thanks for sharing.
