Red button on end of track broke
kenimes replied to JasonR's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
It is not too tough if you would like to try. Only four screws holding the case on, just remove the case and reseat the red button from the inside. Make sure it is still plugged in as well. Ken -
Are there issues going from serial to serial?
kenimes replied to goinpostalscottsburg's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Support Requests
The issue is most likely the driver. Serial to serial connection should not be a problem. Try the Roland PNC 960 driver for Flexi, make sure to set Flow Control to Hardware, and uncheck DTR Hope this helps, Ken -
The CP-2500 should cut that material out just fine. You may need to use a bit more force and slow the cutting speed down a bit, but it should cut .30 mm without any issues.

MH721 is cutting sloppy
kenimes replied to jfteague's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Great news. Hopefully billy's suggestion helped as well. Happy cutting! -
Good to see ya peek in here bro. Hope all is well in Portland. :burp:

Naw, Roland cutters cost ALOT more. If you were to cut your stickers with your MH721, and then cut some with a Roland.....put em next to each other, they look the same. The MH721 will be a bit louder when it cuts, and the warranty is limited, but for the money you save, it is well worth it. Happy cutting!

it will work with any standard US plug. works with any computer/ monitor power cable as well.

Welcome to the forums!! Happy Cutting and let us know if we can be of any assistance. :waving:

Ideally billy, that is exactly what our goal is. To show USCutters in action. Setting up with different programs, examples of cutting, tutorials etc. At this time however, we could only come up with what we got. It is not intended to frustrate our USCutter owners, yet to give examples of the way cutters work in general, as well as the graphic software. A quick reference for all of our new users who have never used a cutter, and can now afford one with our low pricing. We also plan to gather troubleshooting videos, videos on replacing parts etc. Your point is well taken, and exactly what we are striving for. These are simply all we could muster up on short notice. We certainly do not want to promote Roland, or any other brand for that matter, it was just intended to offer basic cutting assistance to our new users. Happy cutting everyone, and look forward to more USCutter specific videos in the future.

Great news. Enjoy your new cutter.

I have emailed ArtCut regarding this issue, it seems to be very common recently. Their initial answer was to "insert the graphics disk" when asked for the CD-R I sent a response explaining that this is exactly what our customers are doing. Hopefully they get back to me with a solid solution soon. Marcus has suggested using the free trial download of SignCut available at www.sc-x2.com SignCut is simply a cutting program, but you should be able to save your graphics files as .eps or .ai and open them in SignCut to cut. I will keep everyone posted on ArtCuts response. :throw:

Well now, take a wild guess as to which cutting program is my favorite. That's right, the only one I have. Thank you much Tater :burp:

Heard it can be done. Anybody used Inkscape to vectorize images? If so, how? :g: Please, thank you. Ken :bruce:

MH721 is cutting sloppy
kenimes replied to jfteague's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Yes, make sure the blade holder is seated properly, and to stop the vinyl from arcing you may need to use all 3 pinch rollers, or you could do what Billy suggests. :chopper: -
We cant take a trade-in for SignCut, but you can try the free trial version from SignCuts web site. If you decide you like it, we offer a discount for customers that had ArtCut.

MH721 Cutting Problem.
kenimes replied to espy's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Yea, the only negative to cutting at a slower speed is that it will take a bit longer. Slower speeds I feel are better however, especially for smaller lettering and logos. I bump up the speed when I plot. :blob7: -
MH721 is cutting sloppy
kenimes replied to jfteague's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Sometimes during shipping the carriage will come off of its tracks which would cause this issue. Behind the carriage you can see two white wheels. Make sure they are sitting on the tracks properly. If not, you simply need to push up on the carriage a bit to reseat the carriage on the tracks. Keep me posted -
problems please help
kenimes replied to smokey's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Make sure you tell SignCut which connection you are using. To do so, click on the cutter button and the cutter screen should pop up. Make sure manufacturer is set to Refine. Cutter is set to Refine MH/EH 721. Device is set to whichever connection you are using. If it is the parallel port, select LPT1. If it is the serial port, it is most likely COM1. If it is the USB connection it is probably COM3 or COM4. Also if using the USB, try the newly updated drivers found in our download section under Refine Downloads. It is the top one of the two. Click on it and run....it will self extract and install. Keep me posted Ken :golfer: -
What kind of problems? Is it the communication between the cutter and the computer? Are you using SignCut? Windows or Mac? Thank you, Ken

Ahh, good point. I hadnt thought about that. Gotta watch out for the copyright police.

I have not had anything removed from eBay before. Not sure, you'd think Fox would dig the advertising. :dontknow: :g:
