Finished this one today. I did the same lettering on both sides and now they want a fishing graphic on the back. The letters are 13" tall and the words are 44" long. The boat is a 25" pontoon.

I was putting a name on a boat yesterday and had to run home and grab something before finishing. I had the surface prepped, but still gave it another once-over of my home-made app fluid / cleaner and just got the vinyl off the backing and half-way down when the owner walks up and tells me that he put a fresh coat of wax in it while I was away. Needless to say, the vinyl pulled right back off and I had to recut and re-apply. It's a really good thing they guy is a good friend of mine, because now I get to harass him about that every now and then.

Yep, only charged him for the materials on this one. The extra cut was free, since he's giving me tons of word-of-mouth advertising around the harbor.

Where do the majority of your sales come from?

It's almost all from word of mouth. I really only started a couple months back, and it's not a full-time gig, but I'm doing around 5 small jobs and 2-3 large jobs a week. -
Thanks. Actually found that Brands of the World has it in eps. They didn't a couple months back...

I'm looking for the Springfield Armory logo with the crossed cannons. Anyone have it? Thanks!
-
Thanks for the EPS! Once my photo studio is finished, that's going on the wall.

Excellent work! I'm glad to see how nice Oracal 8510 works, because I was thinking of picking some up.

Just did this one today and I'm pretty pleased with it. I painted the brown square on the wall (Avery paint mask for square) and installed the design on top (Oracal 631). The whole process went very well, so I'm a bit less nervous about working up to some bigger projects. I've got a couple of boats to do next month.
-
Looks great! I can imagine that would be a pain to install.
-
No kidding...Rob's work is decades beyond me. I may mirror a couple of the angelfish and reinstall them, because I really like that idea.

I did this one this weekend for a 3 year old's room.
-
I'm pretty happy with Avery paint mask. It's pretty cheap and has worked well for me.
-
Very nice job on the graphic! Definitely get some Oracal 631 for wall projects. Goes on easy and has a nice matte finish.
-
Thanks guys. I actually did recommend just painting and not applying vinyl, but that's not what they wanted to have done. :- I'm just doing vinyl on the boats and both owners know I'm just getting my start, so they are getting a great price in exchange for letting me take my time and figure it out.
-
Very nice job on that! What kind of foil did you use?
-
Great stuff you've got going there! What were you cutting out in that video?

Thanks for posting that one...Here's the other + 1 similar. Stkr-061.eps Stkr-062.eps Stkr-061.eps Stkr-062.eps

This is my first paid vinyl job. It's a 1/10th scale touring car body. I'll lay down the paint sometime this weekend. Weeding on this was insane!

The main color will be hard annodized blue, with white, silver, and black accents. Sure, I'll share the EPS files. Which ones are you looking for? The one on the hood is a skull with a WWII-like helmet on.
-
Good stuff! 2 colors is still beyond me.
-
Nice work! Nice build, too. I run the same wheels. Good luck at the comp.
-
Wow, that's some nice work.

What do you think? I'm thinking I'll also add the text "Ram Air", "Pontiac" and "Trans-Am".
