Technical answer to that is, HTV is not Vinyl... It's Polyurethane. Here's a short article that calls out a few of the differences; http://hingstssignpost.blogspot.com/2013/04/the-differences-between-polyurethane.html And I also saw an ad for Inkjet Printable HTV a while back. I can't imagine it holding up but so well.

Standard Workflow for me is just Drag & Drop Vector files onto a New Document in VinylMaster. My Font files (around 14000 of them Organized into sub-folders) are kept in a Folder on my Hard Drive that I point the Font Manager in Vm to to Browse and/or Add to the Vm Library thru the Font Manager ('Add to Lib' Button). Also, I have had a smoother ride in Vm with ttf (True Type Fonts) than otf (Open Type Fonts). Don't know which Version of Vm you have but, Check the flollowing Vids for more info;

Create a circle the size you need... Type the needed Text in your Desired Typeface and enlarge to fit comfortably over your Circle. Select your Text then Distortions>Globe. Convert Text to Paths (Curves). Use Node Edit Tools to Nudge Text into Circular Shape. Punch & Trim Tools may also be helpful in Shaping Text.

Yes... Turn Off 'Auto Updates' and roll back to your last Good Version.

Just adding Text did occur to me as well, just seemed round-about, as well. I've noticed the different Versions of Vm seem to have somewhat different Layouts like they created each one separately, from scratch. He's using the XPT Version in the Video, I believe. You're right though, they buried it rather deep and it seems to be the only way to Clone the Master.

In the Object Manager & Properties... Right Click the page you wish to Clone Page Tools > Master Pages > Clone Master Page Will look around to see about Creating Notes for the Page.

Start Button > Settings > Control Panel > Folder Options > View Make sure "Always show Icons, Never Thumbnails" is UNCHECKED and "Apply" or "OK". Then You should be able to Preview the Thumbs within VinylMaster.

The same procedure applies for Vm... Create several full sized pieces of vinyl in your software, overlap their edges the desired amount, place your image object over them and punch it out.

There are 144 square inches (not 12) in a square foot so; 96x32=3072/144 = 21.33 x $5foot = $106.66 (not $1280).

I used SignCut exclusively up until a few years ago... reliable cutting program but my experience was that it definitely preferred svg format vectors files.

VinylMaster has several Tools for Manipulation Text to what they term "Arc". Not sure about the 'Cut' Version but, in Vm 'Pro', Text can be modeled in an arc with the the Distortion Tools like the Envelope or Arc Templates as well as the with the "Text Styles" (circle) Tool. Can you be a little more descriptive as to what you are trying to accomplish?
