No fighting on my side, just answering your question with how I handle situations like this.

If you have a DTG printer you can do the same thing. Bleach the shirt and then print without the white ink hassles.

Cavnas Totes have starch on them and that will scorch. Cotton scorches around 400F also. Toppers makes bags for heat press applications.

Switch to a serial cable and you will be happier. We have never had an issue since we switched. -

thanks, i will check them out. didn't know about them before this. -
Only about $25K annually of my personal money for handicapped children to get needed dentistry work. But that is personal and not business. As far as our shop goes we are asked to donate work almost daily and we just don't do it. As i said, we are priced competitively and that is as good as it gets in our shop. How could a charity go wrong buying t-shirts for their event at $5 and selling them for $10 or $15 or even $20? As far as a charity goes, I don't have time to investigate what they are about and what they do or even how much of what they bring in goes to the intended purpose. I may sound like a dick but if the charity wants to make money we can partner with them, but we just don't donate. As far as sounding like a dick, how about the OP? asking if I would be angry over someone reusing a charity sign for a for-profit business? I was only offering a solution to his good work being exploited.

PRICING HELP
lynnpromotions replied to c.broyles's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
In So Cal you can charge $65 to $125 per pair. We charge $65 flat for those. -
Don't ever donate and you won't feel that way any more. We never donate materials or labor to fundraising, charity, school, or other types of events. We are a for profit business and we price competitively. If they can get the next guy to donate you save your time and aggravation

So far no hits. I had already done a search and downloaded about 50 versions but nothing even close. -
Does anyone have anything for ultimate frisbee? We never heard of it but we now have a team that wants uniforms. Is there any kind of logo for them?

Copyrighted?
lynnpromotions replied to danthedesignman's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
copyright and trademark are similar but not the same. the copyright law lasts longer and is renewable but does expire at some point. trademarks expire if not used. one cannot warehouse trademarks. also, trademarks are used to identify a product and using a trademark to represent an official or otherwise a product from the mark holder is counterfitting which is a crime. however use of a trademark not as a mark to identify origin of a product but as a decoration is a fuzzy area. there are a number of court cases on this and in some cases using a trademark to express ones allegiance to the mark holder or the mark holders product has been deemed acceptable. so if you want to put your dodge logo on your t shirt may be ok or it may not. -
Pricing help please
lynnpromotions replied to JoeCamaro's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
same price, 2.50 wholesale, 5 retail. -
You can file with legalzoom.com pretty easy. For your taxes, get a CPA and use him. You will be surprised at how much this can help. Consider filing as a C-corp rather than an LLC. A C-corp is the only form that offers virtually unlimited tax free benefits. To address your question on expenses and writing off, you don't write anything off. You have income and you have expenses. What is left is either profit or loss and that is normally what you are taxed on.

how to install cutting strip?
lynnpromotions replied to lynnpromotions's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
The LP strip was just in there with friction. I pulled it up from the end with a pick. Once one edge is up the rest comes out easy. Getting the new one in has never happened. It just wouldn't go. -
can't seem to find this one. This is the Jack Daniels type of font. Anyone know where to find this?

Looking to get a few f-bomb designs. Need one with just the bomb and one with a bomber. Any others are an extra.

how cut throat is vinyl - sign - tshirt shops
lynnpromotions replied to tinaski's topic in General discussion
We have better luck with folks we meet on the forums that are local than just walking in to a shop that is direct competition. -
help with pricing
lynnpromotions replied to graphicguy's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
...let me know what would be the going price in your neck of the woods. Here are the prices in the People's Republic of California, 1. 20 small window decals, one color vinyl, 2" x 8". RTA. Basic text. I came up with $30 for the job. $4 each 2. 2 Window decals for rear window of vehicle, one color vinyl, 48" x 6". I will apply. Basic text. I figure about $50 for this one. $75 each without installation. Add $50 each for installation. 3. 2 window decals, one color vinyl, 22" x 19.5", will take about an hour to lay out artwork. I will apply on chiropractors office window. I figure about $90 for this one. double it. -
8 ft banner price, how much?
lynnpromotions replied to Booper's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
we would charge $120 each for them and turn the order in a couple of hours. our main biz is garments so the banners are just an avenue to get more biz. -
we have a teflon cover on the bottom and that seems to keep everything from moving. We even press vinyl on top of dtg prints without a problem.

Starting my business, where do I begin?
lynnpromotions replied to kkappy's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
hereis a little more. If you are a DBA or not an LLC/LLP or Corp then you probably will only need to file with the county, not he SOS. Check your city as well for a biz license.
