  1. Core you have a TRUE talent! You should definetly do a collection for sale! In my opinion there are alot more of us that do not have that kind of talent and would definetly purchase some ready to cut graphics! I would more likely purchase seperate graphics as opposed to a cd as they are alot higher and in alot of cases I dont like all the graphics in a collection.

I d/l your file as well, THANX!!

  2. its totally ok to double up on your tape but it is more cost effective to get the right size tape. The widest I have is 12 inches then I go down from there, 12 inch, 8 and 6 inch. I'm afraid I will get myself all tangled up in anything wider than 12 inch...lol.

  3. I got a tip from a buddy at the sign shop where I get my wholesale printing:  On small weeding projects, get the big stuff out first, then put your transfer tape on and peel the backing off, then weed all the small stuff out.  The backing doesnt stick very well and the transfer tape does.  Helps to not pull everything else out with the small stuff.

Thanx for the tip, I have a lot of small decals I need to weed, I'm definetly going to give this a try!

  4. weeding is my favorite part! I love to see the pic come to life!

I agree with all that said recruit the kids! If they come in my shop ( they are all over 20 except one) they get a pick put in thier hands LOL!

  5. I work at a RE/MAX office and several agents are asking about signs, I can get the signs, and vinyl no problem, but the balloon is throwing me off.  Let me know who might be able to print them for me.

    Cindy,

I used to work for RE/MAX and we had an area on the remax web site where you could get all the logos you needed in different formats. the balloon should be easy to vectorize and cut yourself, ( I'm just guessing as I have not cut any) They look easy enough! Good Luck! and make sure you charge those agents! LOL!!

  6. I agree plastisol is the way to go and with your time frame you had better get going with Ace right away.  If you had a little more time I might tell you to go with First-Edition because they are a little less than .50 cheaper each on that quantity.  You should probably go ahead and order 200 transfers with Ace because of their price breaks.  I think if you check your cost it will save you $5 over ordering 150 and then you'll have plenty of extras to play around with.  Just include the costs for all 200 in your price and then if she has extras, you'll make a little more profit without the risk.

Also, might want to double check your shirt costs with us before you order.  That is a large enough quantity that you could be leaving a lot of money on the table if you don't buy them at the best price.

Renegade, who is "US" LOL! I need kiwi green shirts in all sizes from adult medium to 3x as well as youth sizes and a few baby sizes!

  7. What does a US Cutter LaserPoint and Creation Pcut do? Do they print in color too? If I wanted to print decals on magnetic backing for cars with four colors, would one of these do the trick for short runs? I don't mean layering, but actually printing colors.

None of these machines actually "print" They cut vinyl. No ink involved. The machines that do print and cut are very HIGH dollar. THOUSANDS of dollars from what I have seen.

  8. Hey all I need some guidance here! I just finished 80 staff and security shirts for the fire department for the up and coming bike show. I did them in vinyl because it was just words. Now I have 80 shirts I need to do for a family reunion. The woman came to me with a printed out sheet of what they want on it. It will take at least a 12x 12 sheet of vinyl. She is going to resell them for 12.50. I will have to sell the shirts to her for $8-$9 per shirt. By the time I recreate the graphic, cut them all out and apply them to the shirts I'm not going to make any money. I was thinking that maybe someone here would have a suggestion on what else I can do besides vinyl. Is there a company that can do plastisol or something out of the graphic so I can make a few dollars on this job and save me a little work...lol. Anyone have any experience with doing it this way because I want the quality to be decent.

The other thing is she wants only about 80 right now with the possibility of purchasing 60 to 70 more. Any suggestions? I need these done by the 15th of june...lol.

  9. Hey everyone im looking at getting on of these cutters. please give me your input on which would be the better one. thanks for all your help!! I have a roland stika 15" and want something bigger and nicer. Would it be wise to go this big or would 24" be plenty?

    vinyl Express R Series 39"

    or

UsCutter  48"+ Vinyl Cutter with CONTOUR CUTTING Laserpoint

    thanks Dave

Wow you are asking about a roland plotter on the uscutter forum, what do you think the answer was going to be LOL.... Um let me guess, yep the uscutter. I personaly will say the roland brand would be the best bet. Remember you always get what you pay for which reflects on your projects outcome. Good Luck !

Nice site you have, however it states that it is under constrction, right under that it asks what kind of impression does your sign make?;) You may want to correct your spelling of construction.... :)

things that make you go hmmmmmmmm......lol

  10. If you have inkscape that will get you thru the vectorizing, some people love it! As I said I dont know anything about your cutter or the cutting software but once you have a true vectorized file all you need in cutting it is your cutting software. open your cutting software, locate the vectorized file, import it and there you have it. Corel Draw and adobe illustrator and inkscape are the main programs that you would use to create a vectorized file ( or you could pay someone to do it for you) there are many web sites out here that you can buy graphics that are already vectorized in which case you really dont need illustrator, draw or inkscape.

I use sign blazer as my cutting program so I import the vector files or files and simply cut.

A vectorized file will either be an ai file or eps. maybe you can find a support forum for your brand of cutter and software?

  11. Welcome Ray to the forum. I wish I could help you out but I dont know anything about your plotter or the software...sorry!

Inkscape is a good program to vectorize, but you said you paid someone to do it for you, so you dont need it for that.

Make sure the graphic your cutting is in eps ( or ai ) format depending on your cutter program.

with sign blazer I use eps files and I dont open them I import them. Not sure if this will help you or not!
