Yeah i will work on it later this week or this weekend. I still have lots of other programs and files to transfer to my new machine. Im keeping the laptop for backup and for mobile use when i go to shows, etc.. Also keeping my old desktop for a file backup, and for some of all my games i have on it, not sure which games will work on this new system. I don't get alot of time anymore to play games, i used to be big into WW2 flight sims, and the Battlefield series. And I still have to transfer all my website files and get all my ftp stuff setup as well to connect to my websites thru the new machine. And then theres pics and music i gotta transfer too, lots to do. I only have a few vinyl orders to get done this week tho.

Yes i have Illustrator with my CS5 bundle. But i never figured out how to install and configure the plugin... I may try that this weekend. I kinda prefer SBE, the simplicity of it overall is just great.

Ok got it to work, for some reason the settings in SBE went back to USB001, and i had to select USB002 and now its cutting. Its weird, yesterday there was no USB002 in SBE, just USB001, and it was selected and it cut, with the printer device itself with its preferences on USB002. Does each USB port have its own number? or are the ones in front 2, and the ones in the back of the tower 1?

Yea...my old desktop has XP pro as well as my laptop. This is the first big snag ive had with windows 8.1

Did u explain to her why you couldn't make it??? If not, just turning her down may turn her away for future jobs that you can do... and 4 foot by what...is the other question.. 4'x2", or 4'x4', or 4'x10', etc...that really varies in price...lol

NEVER MIND...just got it working!! woohoo. In the printer prefences there was a list of ports, and there was another USB002 along with the USB001. I selected the 2 one and BOOM the cutter started cutting the job!! WOOHOO I dont know why that usb2 wasnt in the other sbe list.

Ok i now can see the cutter in the printer device list, and when i go to cut, is shows a printing job in the que for the job list, but says error-printing. I will have to work on this later this week...i dont know what the issue is. The cutting controller can control and move the cutter, its just stupid SBE isnt communicating with it.

Ok i hooked it back up to my laptop, its cutting fine, so its just a communication problem between my new pc and the plotter. Gotta figure this out

when i change the Cutting setting in the controller, the machine powers up and adjusts, its just not getting the data to cut from SBE.

It does make a sound when i plug it in, but no its not listed in my devices... im on windows 8.1

i dont think so, but the cutting controller opens, so it must? right? on my old one the controller would give an error if the plotter wasnt plugged in

So I just moved my machine into my new work room office, and the new spot where it is going to sit is too far for my current 8' USB cable. The cable looks like a standard USB-Printer cable, so can i just buy a longer 16' or 25' one and it should work, right? or are these cables different in some way? Thanks.

Yeah thats one of the ones i am looking at. I measured my distance i need and its about 14'. So 16' should work, but it be nice to have 18', cuz i think the 25' one is just too long. Hell i wish the would make a wireless system for them lol.
