Yeah, I saw the youtube videos. Wish I was that good. I don't really even trust myself with a blow dryer on the job let alone a torch or heat gun. It's gonna be interesting. Luckily I will have some help from someone who I think has done a trailer before.

I just did one of these too!! I don't know that I had such good result though. I did my husbands silhouette that his art teacher did for him in 1st grade. Anyway, I had some paint bleed under the vinyl. Not a lot just enough to not be a crisp edge. What kind of paint did you use? I was thinking about looking to see if I could find a tighter woven canvas or put a towel over the vinyl when it's on the vinyl and run the iron over it. I already tried the blow dryer. Any more ideas?

I finally figured out an easy way to vectorize a photo! If you go to this link http://www.stumbleupon.com/toolbar/#url=http%253A%252F%252Fwww.picnik.com%252F Upload your photo, do the go to create then effects. Do the pencil sketch effect. Then you should be able to vectorize! I just did one tonight. It gets a lot of detail too.

Once you save it as a jpeg bring it to your sign software and vectorize.

I'm not sure what software you are using. I use Flexi and I am able to select each node and delete or move them to make a smoother line.

I haven't cut any yet. I have a race car to do in the next week then I will be working on this a lot more. I want to etch it onto a mirror for my sister's birthday.

I have tried and tried to vectorize this. I am getting better just not at this part. I know it is very time consuming so if someone could even give me some instruction. I am using Corel, Photoshop and Flexisign 8.1. Thank you!!

I am rescanning right now at 9600 dpi. I want to cut this and etch it onto a mirror. My sisters birthday is coming up and this is her baby. Thought it might be a cool birthday present.

I don't know why but, for some reason nothing I vectorize opens in SB. I'm sorry! :-
