Still to me sounds like a bad connection to plotter. I had that same thing, before i got keyspan, right at the end of cut, it made big lines for no reason. What i installed, there was cd in with signcut, i haven even touch small cd, i used big one, there is many files on it, at first i couldn get it to install, but then i found right file/drive and installed signcut first, then same goes for illustrator plug in. After that, restart, open signcut, go to prefrences, and make sure your divice conncted right. dev/keyspan see attachments

!1. yes correct, any roll up to >24"< wide . 2. i go with clear tranfer tape for start, There is few brands, and go with meddium tack..And would get 24" roll cause most of your work will be up to 24". Also in the future get just simple tape, cause if you want to do wet applications, clear wont work for that.. 3. No, Sign cut made for just cutting. You can change size and make weed frame if your using PE mode. I think its possible to do your designs in photoshop, its just illustrator or corel is easier for that kind of work. As long you save your work as .esp and make paths, your good. 4. I dont know exactly that brand, but i ment cheap vinyl is vinyl up 2 year war. or the cheap stuff you buy on ebay. If you go to your sign supply store/warehouse, they can give you few samples, credits to what is good/ expencive and what is cheap/cheap stuff. There is one ending today, hurry!
  8. hehe, i can tutor over the phone ..just tell us what your cutting there and i try help here..also its good to include your project file here so incase someboady want to hlp you they can test and see maybe bad vector image or something.

Gee, was my first post that long??? jk.) Well, seems like your one of us. Few months ago i wondered how they make those signs/decals/banners, now its almost full time job. From what it sounds, compam-2500 will be more then enought for you. Its a great machine for the money you pay. Some ppl have trouble setting up the thing when they get it, but if you read direction correctly, and use some basic sense + all this info on forum, youll be good. Plotter/cutter comes with basic design software InkSkape and SignCut (this is program to cut your image) . As for designs/pre-made illustration vector packs, if your not into drawing, doing photoshop , i recommend you to get some of those cd. Or you cad do all text, and all your art work in that freebie software InkSkape. personally i use Illustrator. There is tons of different vinyl, from cheap stuff to some 24k gold kind. For start i buy few roll of some cheaper stuff, just to get some practice. Also draw paper, squeegees, ruler, knifes, blades, pencil, tape, revert brush, level..This is basic stuff , and they sell all this in your sign supply store, just google it, there is few in my town..they are huge warehouses. over all, i buy it ! its worth it. At first you might suffer with problems, but when you figure all out you be happy as me! Hope this helped

    One simple question

Well, banner john, in other post you stated you happy and know all about this thing, but apperanly not.Same here though, i have same exactly opposite way of what you have... after i do my cut, my blade moves forward for the next cut, but there is times i just want for it to comeback to starting point.. and some dude below saying thats impossible, wats up with that? is my cutter one of the kind? somebody explain this...i am making video tommorow!!

Hmm, that is strange cuts ... I am using Dual G5 mac, and only problem i had when i got ploter it did weird lines for me, so keyspan fixed that problem and now i am cutting and making money ! On the topic. What i would do first, is try test mode on the cutter, if that works, cuts round in a square pressid t next step. Next i would cut the copam graphic wich is memoriezd in the plotter. Check your manual for Self-Examination, it will tell you how to . If thats cuts as it should, then i would check for connections. Make sure you plug your keyspan, and usb side right into usb port on dektop, not monitor or fron usb port, but the back one. Again, make sure connections all secured. Then, make sure your software (sign cut ) is regestered and not in demo mode. Download the latest drive from sign cut. That small disk, its not for macs, well yes, but you dont need it. Then download this file http://www.divshare.com/download/360667-eca Thats bull eye graphic. To make sure you ploter cuts right, use tat graphic, i used it, and that is clean file, clean cut. You didnt include whitch program your using to do your graphics, in my case i use Illustrator, when i am in the program, under file at the bottom click SEND TO SIGNCUT.. now go to sign cut and import your file. Then try to cut..if that doesnt work, or it cuts bad againg, i would reupload driver, signcut, and see what happens.. it late, sorry for mispelling.. just my .02

Few pics of scetches i did today

Just got my 42" Copam.. this thing is BIG, i did not expect to be that big, and its not even 50" anyways, I use Dual powermac G5, up to dated, just installed all the nessesary drives and program i got from selltopia, first and second draws were weird, messed up, but then i restarted whole systme and cutter and looks like it got great on 3rd cut, and 4th... so far i like it, i just used some good pan i found here. But its still scetchy, sometimes after it finishes, it does not want to stop drawing, its still shows "cutting" on the cutter display... here is few shots http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u208/sashatronics/DSC01072-1.jpg[/img]
