    First bass drum head

Not according to this drummer. (and he's from finishing up @ Berklee College of Music, so I'll take his word) The sound has more to do w/ the placement of the hole in the drum. In the center, you get more punch and no resonation. The further out the hole is places, you trade punch for resonation. These are the things I've been told, I'm no musician myself. The drummer in this situation was not concerned w/ the hole location change because he already had one off center, 6" in diameter. This is just a bit further out, and 5". As for the vinyl on the skin, he said the impact skin is where you get your tone and what has to be tuned. He does not even fully tighten the front skin.

    First bass drum head

Recently, I did my first bass drum logo. The hole in the existing head was in a bad spot, so I bought a head w/o a hole and added it as a material charge. (It was only $20) I used lacquer remover/thinner to remove the Pearl company logo first. I used Oracal 751 (overkill?) The band logo: After applying the logo to the head: I made the external diameter of the solid circle in the logo as the internal diameter on this decal. I used the empty circle as my guide for cutting the new hole. To cut the hole, I bought a 5" diameter coffee can (tough to come by these days, everything is plastic now @ that volume). I heated the can on the stove and placed it on the drum to melt through. It made a perfect hole, just had to remove the guide vinyl and a light sanding w/ 600grit sandpaper to finish it off. A method I found searching youtube: A couple finished action shots: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a325/crazyhoran/Signage/4202_522775806350_41900227_31094373.jpg[/img]

    Etched 4" sq glass tiles

This stuff does look great, ever since I saw it existed I've noticed much of the frosted glass I've seen on store fronts is actually vinyl. (A bunch of Bank of America ATMs have 2" dots in 2 rows around the glass in many locations) My question is, how is it about being dishwasher safe? I couldnt imagine it holding up that well over time, but it would be ideal if it does. I'm looking to do a set of pint glasses for a band. Like you said, it saves all the steps that usually come after cutting and applying.
  4. Can this be done on the outside of a bottle? (if I wanted to mirror a brown or green glass bottle.) If so, I would assume it would mean having a much larger volume of the material, and a basin to dip it in.

    Trophies

I made a couple trophies a few months back. All I really did was type "trophies <zip code>" into google and got about 10 stores in the area. Everything was way cheaper than I thought. It was much nicer to buy it from someone face to face, and I had everything I needed in hand that day. It was for a flag football game we nicknamed the Jager Bowl. I bought a standard "3 column" trophy base for $15, the little football, side podium things and the figure all total were under $6 for all of them. The side markers are Jager nips, and the center column is a 1l Jager bottle. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a325/crazyhoran/Signage/l_340e31ad0a7b44f7a7086dc2df323856.jpg[/img] http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a325/crazyhoran/Signage/l_d44ccf099b4c4f1380545a748a05b089.jpg[/img]
