on the one that you posted I selected it (so its highlighted) then right click, then un group. Still couldn't move them around so then I right clicked again and saw un compound. So I un compound them they broke apart. does that help?

I would say try some better vinyl. I personally don't like the green star but others seem too. I would take it off and order at least some 651. Or how about super glue?
