VRPRO, Your pricing seems good for the quantity. Keep in mind that you are giving a 40% discount per each decal over "standard" decal pricing (using my price guides). I would suggest that you call around your area and see what your competition would charge. It may be a little low, even for the quantities. Also understand that anyone set up with a high quality printer/cutter, and are able to do large production runs of decals, could probably supply them for less. How long does it take you to weed / prep a run of 100 decals?

Try placing a . after the G, it may help define the letter. I like the logo, easy to see and identify, and can be worked into signs easily.

All right heat press pros, I have some questions. I need some information on this press I just got. I have no real idea how old it is, if it really works properly, and how it works fully. I just need info on this press. It is a HIX model, model # HT400 The price was right, so if I got to invest in a little for it, that

How would you layer this decal....help please!
Muttley replied to tlzimmerman's topic in General discussion
I have layered decals this way, but I would say not to do it is this situation. You will find it hard to line up all of the layers properly. Also, the app-tape will want to lift off the table in the center, unless you are using two-sided tape to hold it to the table. Since you are not handing over a RTA decal to a customer, the best way to apply the decal is layering on the cabinet. Since you are not using white vinyl, lay the black on first. Squeegee the decal on real good, but go easy on the registration marks. Lay the remaining colors on top of each other; again squeegee the decal real good, but not the registration marks. If you are worried about wasting app-tape, just don't use it. Use tape on your black layer, applying it wet. Then free-hand place the other colors on top. If you are applying the whole decal wet, free-hand placement will not matter because you can reposition the colors as needed. I have done this many times. Also, practice makes perfect. Play around at home with stuff to get the feel for how this will turn out. Good luck, and include pictures when done! -
Make it up! I sent the first one in under my company name, the second under my father's name and address. Still waiting on the second delivery though

I would suggest doing it wet. That big of an area and your bound to get some bubbles. Yes, you will have to squeegee the h3ll out of it, but you won

Need help with printed decals just bought new printer
Muttley replied to tictac3410's topic in General discussion
The Epson inks are water based. I have researched a little about solvent based inks, but you have to have the right equipment to use them. As of right now, I don't want to spend the money on retrofitting my 1400 to solvent inks. If I had the money, I would have a large format printer with solvent based inks, a printer for dye-sub. work, and a document printer. For now, I just work with what I got. With so many of us on here looking for a solution, it is only a matter of time before we find it. Anyone else with ideas please chime in too! -
File the claim. You have been more than generous with them. If nothing comes of the claim, than call them out on the forum. Like it has been said before, it may help someone else on here from getting the same treatment.

Tictac, I am currently experimenting with my Epson 1400, and the standard Claria inks. I do not believe the ink that came with your printer has any UV protectant in it. This means you will have to apply some kind of protection to your decal. You are in luck though, as I have some great information for you. The Frogjuice product can be used with all Epson inks. The ink must fully cure/dry first, before Appling the coating. I have a decals testing right now with Frogjuice coating, so far so good. Frogjuice is actually available in many places, though I have found that it may not be listed and you have to ask for it. Sign Warehouse stocks it. There is also product called overlaminate. This is a clear vinyl with a UV protective barrier built in. I also have a few decals testing with this coating. The good news here is that you can get a huge roll of it for FREE! It is from Avery, and I got a roll of it and matte printable vinyl for free as well. Go to the Vinyl section of the forum, and find the "More Free Vinyl..." topic. In this topic you will find an order form that you can print, fill out and fax in for your free product. It is that simple. I really like being able to offer and supply digital printed decals, but I can not afford a quality printer and solvent based inks. This has been my solution. I do only offer one-off's (1 or 2) printed decals, if a customer wants more quantity I refer them elsware. -
I like the idea. Great work!
