If you are using Flexistarter you cannot autotrace,, I did not see you specify which Flexi program you are using,,, Starter? Pro? Sign? Letter? I just know that if using Flexistarter, You have to import a design that is already vectorized. ie: AI file. EPS file etc.

also dongle is your password protect. As a key that locks your software, so to speak, Fits in your USB port. Also with dongle you do not need to be on the internet to be able to work and your license is unlimited, as with softkey version, (no dongle). you do need to be connected to the internet every 15 days or license expires.

I have used Flexistarter only for my business for 2 years now. It is basically all I need to cut with. ...very easy to learn and yes, has registration marks and cuts for different colors. You just click pause between colors.

someone on EBAY has alot of decals that are tire tracks,, search tire track decals

the GRAPHTEC FC7000 MK series do it,, MINE WAS $2700. I never use it...as auto...I use it as manual, so I can save more vinyl that way, every inch adds up.

does your version of flexistarter come with a dongle or is your version softkey? Softkey has to be connectd to the internet every 15 days or will lose license... Also try a new cable to the cutter... try reinstalling Flexistarter, (doesn't hurt) see if that helps.

when I purchased my Seiki the only cd with it, was for the serial cable,,RS-232C, then it recognized the hardware,,, plotter doesn't have a cd.... Just serial cable and signware do..

Don't you have an area in your software that you can rotate your image before it sends to cutter? Sending it length. not width ,,,check any "help" areas on your software..

I run a graphics business and only use Flexistarter,, ez to learn... imports alot of formats....

tape in my opinion depends on what size decals you are making. ,, and how much text and small details.. real small decals like 3" x 8" and with small text, I use clear,,,, large decals I use paper tape,, Conform, Main etc. how I apply clear tape is ....unroll with tape laying on the table with adhesive up, sometimes it has some static to it, so I put a little weight of something small on the corner... Then with the vinyl side down of your decal, and facing the adhesive side....start at the end of the tape and gently ROLL the decal slowly on the tape, while gently smoothing it as you go. works for me...

what was your original problem that you had to find your Flexi cd? Did you reinstall it or something? Need more details,

Flexi has new version for VISTA, You can find great prices for different versions on EBAY,,, I personally use Flexi starter 8.5 it fills all my needs and costs about $99.00 and free ship on EBAY...

Have you tried changing cables? losing connection. I used to have that problem with my Seiki, I got a different cable, then no problem

more than likely your toolbar has just gotten to far to the edge,, and is hidden,, install again, and it should reappear

I have Flexistarter 8.5 .plt file import IS listed in the import drop down box under HP-GL/2 AND HPGL so I guess you can go from there.

I have a Graphtec FC7000MK-75, use with Toshiba laptop windows xp only use usb ,,purchased feb '08 I have never had a connectivity problem, love my cutter, well worth the investment.

I have FLEXI,, and use it daily,, your bitmap and jpeg have to be converted to ai/ eps/ before it can be cut, you cannot just send raster images to Flexi and cut them...possibly import into inkscape and convert to vector or use Adobe Illustrator and trace and convert to vector,, but anyway you go the image has to be in vector format to cut the image...
