sounds like: Do you have the cutter grounded to the stand, If you have one. Z-Axis Carraige Chip for MH Series Cutter Z Axis Chip for Refine Series Plotters, models: MH365, MH721, MH871, MH1101, MH1351. This chip controls the up/down motion of the carriage arm. If your carriage arm is no longer moving up/down then you will want to first call our support department to confirm that the issue is being caused by the chip, but this will most likely be the part that you need. This part will ship via US postal service for free if your unit is under warranty. http://www.uscutter.com/index/page/product/product_id/1406/category_id/70/product_name/Z-Axis+Carraige+Chip+for+MH+Series+Cutter

welcome have you worked your way thru the newbie manual? Download in first post you do have to have the com port numbers in your device manager and in Signblazer to match, before it will work correctly.

How to direct cut with corel 11
MZ SKEETER replied to axle73's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
Are you sure he is using direct cut from Corel, or running Corel thru Cut Studio software, which is the cutting software that comes with the Roland cutter.... just like I can cut direct with Corel Or Illustrator thru my Graphtec using Cutting Master2, the software that comes with the Graphtecs. -

How to direct cut with corel 11
MZ SKEETER replied to axle73's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
you will get more help, if you use a common cutting software like Signblazer or Signcut.. any reason to cut directly from Corel? My vinyl cutter shows up in my printer/fax list in my control panel. Then you can add it as a printer I guess. I use windows XP. I have never added it as a printer. I don't use Corel or Refine cutter. Give it a try, but you need the correct cables for your cutter to computer. -

I'm using CS2,, I just resaved it in Illy, as an .ai file... imported it in to Flexi and ungrouped it.

USCUTTER even shows you pictures on how to do it in their support section. http://support.uscutter.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/147/9/how-to-vectorize-in-inkscape.

Congrats on your purchase, you will love it.. as much as I love mine...

I pay $22-23 shipped fast in the US. for 5 Graphtec blades and they last months.. And I cut every day. Yes, more than Roland blades, but I have no problem paying that.. They are great quality blades with springs. I don't even use 5 blades in a year. I'm just cutting vinyl.

I agree on them wanting you to buy the FC series. I purchased my FC 7000- 75 in 2008,NEW It was an ez $1000 less than now on the FC8000-75..Having the media basket and stand, made me choose over the Roland and I have never regretted it. @ Vinylmotivations, I don't understand why you change your blade length, for different colors, just change the force a number or 2. .. I do not change my blade length for anything. Unless I have used the blade for a long time and trying to get a little extra out of it before changing blades. I use the Graphtec Cutting Controller all the time.. I make all adjustments from there. Makes it very ez. I never have to change anything on black vs red,,,Oracal 651, I don't even change the blade length to cut Avery Chrome, I just raise the force. Cuts perfect. Maybe changing the blade length is easier for you,but personally I think using the controller is VERY ez. I don't make any adjustments directly on my cutter. Vinyl in, load media, origin, prefeed, ready to cut.

you can't save as .ai8.for Signblazer.. you have to save as .eps8. , Hope things work out for you...
-
inkscape.org and Signblazer are FREE software, and Signblazer can be downloaded right here on the forum...
-
Is this what your talking about?
-
are you saving the .ai file in an older version of .eps like version8? You should,, Signblazer is older software and has not been updated for several years.

Yes, they do cut smoother, and as far as a Graphtec, you don't need to step up to a FC series, with all the bells and whistles, to have a great Graphtec product, The CC5000 is just as great, just not as many xtra features like the media basket. Cross cut feature.as standard. I do have the FC7000mk-75 which is a 30" machine, purchased new in 2008, and was totally paid for in no time. With my business I had an entry level 30" cutter from another company, and although it never gave me problems, after 14 months I upgraded to my current Graphtec, which has never given me any problems either. Quieter, smoother, great tracking and more memory. I have never regretted getting my Graphtec.
