WHat is the best software (cutting & art design) if using a Macbook
piscespokerbrat replied to kmcacmoore's topic in General discussion
A PC...... oh wait, you said software, ummmm never mind! Go with Flexi as Dan said there! -
See, thats why I also avoided other MMROPG? games like World of Warcraft, etc. I have seen how addicting and what happens to people when they become obsessed, its really not very pretty. Good thing your smart and found a way to break free though!

I tried the trial version of signcut, and I didn't get very far with it. You can make block shapes in Sign Blazer, and also adjust your workspace settings to make the shape and size your after. This way, you wouldnt have to import anything into the cutting software. Maybe the problem lies in the import file itself, as in not saved as an EPS file? My suggestion would be to just make the stripes in the cutting software itself. Inkscape is generally just a vector editing program. Oh and welcome to the forums!

Welcome to the forums! I just jumped in on my 1st purchase as well. I am so far pretty close to $900 for everything I bought. But, for you if you got an SC series cutter for example, you could probably get away with about $600 or so. I am learning Sign Blazer and Inkscape. Both are free programs! Good luck on your endeavors!

See, that is what I SHOULD do first, wrap small stuff. But, I have bigger fish to fry, and I am going right to the truck. I figure that will expedite my learning curve just a little bit! My truck is pretty straight, no rust, but its a '98. So of course being 14 years old, it has some scratches and other little imperfections that I am going to neatly hide The bottom half is going to stay black, but the top half is going Gloss White. I am excited to change to the white because the black just cooks in the sun. Yes, my A/C works rather well (38 degrees out the vents). Anyways, sorry for the rambling, but I am excited excited excited! (huh.. I wonder if he's excited). Can anyone pin the movie reference? Give ya a hint, instead of excited, the word is glad.. lol Cookies to the winner! -
Isnt that the truth! I dont have my cutter yet, but I have been playing with SBE now for a few days getting used to the program!

Dont worry, once the wrap vinyl gets here, I am going to set up my video camera to video the whole process. I then will load that up into windows movie maker and put it at double or triple speed. That way, the whole world can see my goofy arse taking my 1st crack at wrapping a vehicle I like to take lots of pics too, so you and everyone else will see probably at least 20 or so pictures if not more about what I am doing. -

Thats a good thing! I at least wont be too much of a pain in anyones arse around here -
I do have Red Dead, and I have played online before I also do other online games like Dead Rising and GTA 4. The thing I like about PC is that you can run emulators for old game systems. So, in the past, I have played things like Sonic the Hedgehog .. lol

Im no expert by any means yet, but I have read on here that anything can cause that. Improper blade depth, serial connection, drivers, software glitches, hardware glitches, not enough slack on the vinyl, etc etc could cause problems. I am sure someone else might chime in if they have had these types of problems. But, that is what I can think of as I have lurked around the forums myself :-) Good luck! Oh and welcome to the forums!

Hey guys thanks for the words of encouragement :-) I have no doubt that this small investment will pay for itself in no time. I mentioned this somewhere on here, but I LOVE learning new things. One of my classic examples is of a 5th wheel I had bought a few years back. I taught myself how to do Pex plumbing in that thing so I could plumb in a tankless hot water heater. Needless to say, I did, and it worked flawlessly. I am a jack of all trades and almost a master at a few of them by now -

That would be a good sub forum to have. I am getting an SC series cutter, and I wouldn't mind a little corner for us SC folks!

Well, $879 that is.. ARG! I gotta say it, the tracking for all my wonderful packages says the cutter will be here the 15th and the vinyl on the 18th! My poor poor cutter is going to be lonely for a few days without some vinyl sliding through it.. oh man that sounds wrong.. lmao Am I the only one wanting next week to get here fast!! Ooh ooh off topic, but NEW Dr Who tomorrow night!!! AWESOME! -
I don't do PC games, or I would take ya up on that! I do play Xbox360 though if your into that?
-
Oh if there was an applause or clapping smiley, I would certainly post it up!

Anyone that throws a temper tantrum like this wont be in business very long! As Dale Carnegie says "if you want honey, dont kick over the beehive"! I think what OP really needs is anger management classes/therapy! -
