Signcut X2 (pro) issues on iMac intel.

Thanks Franklin.... I'm looking into them now.
  2. Ok guys I need help. I upgraded from my old G5 iMac (Mac processor) to the newer Intel iMac... Damn nice machine. But when I needed to use my plotter, All went south! I dragged my old version of signcut X2 over from my old Mac the my Intel. Problems started when, Sign cut would crash when I opened a file or tried to cut from a file. If I could get it to stay open, while adding weeding lines, I would loose parts of the file? EVEN if I got to a stage to JUST send the file to cut.. The file would not make it to the Plotter? I tried changing driver settings, to no avail. I tried downloading a new driver from creation (Pcut) still the file would get lost going to the plotter? Find out signcut's been updated. Download signcut pro, Merg my old account over, and all seemed to be ok. signcut pro opens imports files etc with out a problem.... BUT still the file wont make it to my plotter? So I figure I need a driver... I downloaded the FTD driver. No change. I down load DXX2.... But installing it seems to complex. (I'm only given manual instructions) So I abandon that idea. Then I try scpro-uni.... Again, I still cant from this mac..... I tried changing settings of drivers in signcut pro.... nothing is working. All with the same results... Signcut pro is stable however. So I'm halfway there. Help guys. Dan

Signcut X2 (pro) issues on iMac intel.

    ......Any idea's?
  4. Hi Guys. I've been selling Ts using the Heat press Vinyl on eBay. And I have been approached by a shop for a Bulk order. As I've only sold the Ts in lots of singles, Pairs and once a set of Six Ts in the one order at the most. And How many this guy wants is unconfirmed as yet. Now I have a Screen Printer I can work with to outsource Plastisol transfers too. As I have used in the past for an order needing the process. And I would be doing any Bulk order as Plastisol Transers. Pressing my self. The Ts I will be supplying (printed) will be resold in his bricks and Morter store. I will also be supplying all Ts used in any orders. Still I have some Questions: Do I ask for a Min order he can ask for? Is there a standard Min order in this situation? What percentage do I reduce the dollar value of the order per Bulk items?.... This is one area I clearly have no idea. Thank you in advance for replies. Dan
  5. Thanks Guys, I originally was going to post this Q: into T-shirtforums but for some reason I could not sign in. Frustrated I just came hear to save time lol. Some very helpful info given tho. Screanprintr I'm over the Globe hear mate, Aust. Tho I have thought heavily in having my Ts shipped over, If I could find a supplier to justify the cost compared to what I already pay hear. Which is $7 for Jonny Bs and slightly less for Gildans. I'll do a search on these two suppliers you mentioned thanks. Dan
  6. Thanks mate. I was thinking 25 also, As this is the min order amount my T supplier is set at. Dan
  7. I've been selling a bit of Vinyl on eBay for a while now with decals and such and I'm open to custom orders. (which I've done a few now) And I'm thinking down the road (near future) of starting out with a small Biz out of my home. I was wondering what does it take to start out? I've a fare way to go yet with materials, equipment and experience. (I think) So I'd be keen to hear of stories from guys that like myself have started with nothing and stepped out and done it alone with as little as what they had. Maybe still have? What did you NOT know. What would you do different if given the chance again? What did you start out with? And what would you recommend for some one thinking of stepping out? I'm pretty apt with Creativity. Run a 24" PCut off my Mac. And have speedy, reliable Vinyl suppliers. I do Ts too. (Heat press Vinyl) Dan
  8. Done. I'll keep an eye out for your own work now shall I? Dan
  9. lol I've been a member on the KKL forum for a few years now Pete. You'll find me as KustomCandy over there. I have a little of my work posted up there. Nothing I brag about that's for sure lol. I've just scored a Free Bike tank to practice my painting on. And am literally near ready to have my very first go at Flame painting. I should Post it up over there when Done. Dan
  10. Hear in Aust. I charge $0.13c for decals I sell. If I was to do a shop front for instance. I believe most guys charge $1.00 per inch. Intal extra. Dan
  11. Interesting guys. (hehe) as I too started out with my Plotter For stencils and thought I'll just make a bit of coin to help finance my Air brushing expenses while I'm at it. And I hear you load and clear. I have no intention of rushing into the game. I guess browsing back hear and reading, learning is going to be the best teacher. Vinyl tree, I'm in Vic myself. Plan to move closer to Geelong in the next twelve months or so. Do you follow any of the Airbrushing within the car/ Bike scene at all? Dan

    WARNING TO EVERYONE!!!!

Holly Crap.... This Happened to Me hear in Aust!!!! Tho I wasn't blatantly set up. But I was pulled aside for reproducing a GM-H Decal. Sold for $7Aust. Sued........... $670Aust. I havn't the time to read the intire thread to see how this all panned out just yet. I'll have to come back. It leads me to ask how is Lettering all those Stock cars out there across the U.S? There must be thousands of shops hear in (as they say) in breach!! Then their is drag racing, Boat racing, Moto-X ...... My God Motor X alone is huge! I find it hard to believe all these shops are asking for Signed permission from the Team owners for their shops to have the "Go Ahead" and sign their Bikes/Cars/ Boats/ Trucks/ Go Karts...... the list go's on! But after sleeping on this I recall my Collage days... This is interesting to Note. Now a few years back I studied Photography. Copyright just happened to be one of the subjects. At the time I was pretty Green, But I'm a lit older and a little wiser... After reading the first three pages of this topic I had to retire to bed. But I woke up recalling a few things. Now in the Photographic field it is the LAW that no person can be Photographed with out there consent... ok, that's a little vague. You as a Photographer cant ask some one to "Model" for you with out there consent... Of course few people take this seriously... But it is actually Law. So for example if you where to take a Photo of a group of people (strangers) standing on the street corner, They can ask you to dispose of that Photo if you did NOT ask for there consent!!! Now in the Industry they have a Thing called a Model Release form.. (you can look them up on the Net) This is a LEGAL binding contract. A similar form is used for Business names that may be used as a Backdrop in a Photograph.... And that Business DOES not have to be a Known name.... It could be a simple Fish and chips shop. I brought this up because some where on page 2,3, some one was using a waver or (I forget the term. Damn my memory at this time as I have little!) that was placed at the bottom of every receipt given, and was told that a lawyer claimed this would not stand up in Court. If this is so then there is a Gross discrepancy in the system!..(who would think that could happen) Personally I would NOT take this a just and have asked for a second opinion... Secondly... Useing the "Model Release" formula..... How is it so that Paparazzi's can get away with Capturing Britney spears or Madona or Add Name hear. In circumstances that this Person feels is an infringement on thier personal space? Dan
  13. Its time to step up my selling. I have a store, And I'm making profit on decals alone. And I'm now only just selling T-shirts too. But looking into ways I can get greater exposure with Listing MORE items at a time. Something like Turbo Lister that eBay offers. But is Mac compatible. I've found AuctionGenie 4.0 and GarageSale so far. Unfortunatly I'm unable to run AuctionGenie, as I'm limited to my OS. (OS X 10.4) AG requires OS X 10.5. So It got me thinking, Use Garage sale. For $30 I cant complain. Upgrade my OS to 10.5, run AuctionGenie? Or Upgrade to OS X 10.5 and run my IMac in a Windows environment (boot Camp) and use eBays Turbo Lister? Any Experience out there? Thoughts, comments?
  14. Batch/ Group listings is what I'm looking for. And their scrolling window looks interesting too, I think I'll give them a shot. Thanks man.
  15. Auctiva, I recall these group from a few years ago. But I'm sure they charged a fee some where back then. I think it was like a percentage deal?. They cant offer their service for free! Do you use these guys Jay2703? Bayshorescustoms, AuctionGenei and GarageSale are both Mac platformed Apps. You can find them on tucows.com and other Download sites, ZDnet would be another.
  16. So I have my Ts, Heat press Vinyl, Cut logo (reversed) and ready to go. But I found out pretty quick that The alignment is a lot trickier them it first seems. I haven't pressed my shirt yet..... (tempting tho) As I thought Id get an idea of how its done with just a ruler. I'm in Aust, So just walking down to the local Art shop to pick up a T-shirt alignment tool isn't an option for me. I don't really have a problem aligning the Image on the T on a table. But transferring the T with Your Image is tricky with out moving the alignment. And measuring from undrer the Press seems trickier still! Tips any one....

Filling an odd shape/Frame with one word?

Golden Joe. Thats exactly what I needed. Thanks man.
  18. Hi Guys, Can any one one talk me through this? I want to draw my Name for my plotter to cut. But I want it to follow the lines or the inside of an area.. If you follow me? I dont want the shape in the end, That will be deleted. I want to draw a shape, and have my text (cherrybomb) to fit inside and fill the shape... A circle for example. Can I do this in Illi, or do I need draw it in Photoshop and then Vectorise it?
  19. I'm just delving into the whole T thing with the intention of going further down the track. But to learn from and the limited budget I have for now. I brought one of these ASC machines. (I fully intend to upgrade later) It is what it is. A copy. But it looks to be a pretty study construction. But it is very much a Budget built machine as can be seen close up...... Budget but sturdy. And is very simplified in its workings. Thou it does have a timer and alarm. The Temp will keep rising if you dont switch it off after you make a press (at the side of the machine). Which could become a pita after time? They do have a web site, Google it. They seem to make (or maybe copy?) a few variety of machines. I'm not into supporting the Asian markets if I can avoid it. And if I could have, I would have looked into a better machine.. But Hear in Aust, they are pretty pricey!
  20. Its the Videoflex (Pressure sensitive) stuff. Its as Thin as buggery, But seems to have NO backing paper to it? One side is Gloss, while the underside is a Mat finish. Do all the Heat Press Vinyls come like this? Or do I need a separate roll/sheets of Backing paper for this stuff?
  21. I got in contact with my supplier and he said basically the same thing. So this'll be interesting. Its so thin, it looks like your cutter would slice right through it. Time for a bit of trial-an-error. Hopefully I'll be back with some thing to show
  22. Cool. I hear a lot of the "Cut in Mirror". Hopefully I want have to many Blonde moments and become victim of it. But Backing paper?? If I cut this stuff how it is. I'm going to have pieces fall to the floor all over the place. Do use Application tape at all to combat this?
  23. Well the day was coming. It was just a matter of when. I had a customer ask me to cut him a Decal that would use the entire width of my Plotter (24"). I was as nervous as Hell, as I didn't want to waste a $30Aust per meter........ The only piece I had (and then I have to get it freighted to me) of Vinyl specific for the Job. Well I pulled it off. But it got me wondering....... What was/has been your biggest mess up? I'm sure there has been some. Care to share.

    First Two (Four) Decals

Its an even bigger rush when you step it up and cut bigger projects... I've just cut my First 24x24 decal.. It looks soooo sweeet! And the very first thought I had once cut, was. How kool would it be to own a 48" cutter... Oh yeah, its a adictive alright lol
