    Back Window

Hmm, interesting delema. The question is where would you rather be? Laying Vinyl for your self or staying where you are at now? If your interested in the former, I would go about it with caution.. As jumping into it could stir the pot and cause unwanted friction between your self and your boss...... The man that in the end employs you! I would tho as said, Buy my own plotter/ materials and explain to your boss (and other employee's) that you wish to work from home in your own time and you wish to advertise the fact. Next to the fact that your boss needs a little more back bone regarding what other employees are saying!! But thats another issue... Because you seem to have the talent for it.. K, nuff said from me. I'm outa hear. Dan
  8. Well the plotters up and running thanks a million to venice_d's help. So I couldn't help my self to at least draw something for this thing while I wait for some vinyl to cut. Hears a little practice piece I drew up this morning for trial testing. (Note: its not all too accurate and I didn't use a ruler or guides for the most. so there is the odd mis-alignment of sections) But it was playing around.. Dan
  9. I think I've passed my Driving license for the Plotter testing,... Time to get some Vinyl (ordering some as I type) Dan

The EFIJY retains one very distinctive feature that is known for its background... The Grill and Nose of the bonnet where the Holden Badge resides... And we are starting to see it pop up a fair bit. I've even seen it on the X-Otic's Kustom Paints web site. And in fact we do export to your shores.. The GTO Pontiac is and has been known to us for the last couple of years as the Holden 'Monaro'. Add the Poncho nose cone, and the double vent Bonnet and there you have a GTO. They started out as a limited run hear in Aust, Thinking that the public interest would only be small. And with a price tag of 80k, I was fully expecting to hardy ever see one around. 80 large mustn't be that hard to come by hear, as we do see them more often then not. I guess, exporting the Monaro/GTO was cheaper then redesigning and tooling up for a new model GTO to start with, and Thus.... We still have our Coupes.
  12. Thanks guys. Never was any good at the graffiti style as a lad. But with out realizing it, I can see a little influence in there. Glad you all likes it... Did another today for the little lady. Dan

SignCut Quiting on importing files and refusing to cut! (Mac)

coming on like a storm Yep, I had those resting in my pallet wells. Been awhile since I've used them tho(rusty). But It was coming back to me. Even did a little trial drawing this morning to show. Just a little playing around. Its in the show your work section. Again Thanks for your support mate. A true asset to the forum. Dan
  14. I'm running Mac G4 OS X 10.9 Illustrator 11 USB conection I've down loaded SignCut software (suit OS X 10.9) as I didn't know which files to open on the CD supplied with my PCut. I did register my Bundle # tho. Downloaded the drivers. But SignCut refuses to Cut anything. I did try test mode once and the Cutter responded For a moment.. But only the one time. I cant export from Illi, Only open via SignCut. But regardless SignCut either wont show the art work or Quits on opening any Illi File! I also noticed that with the download, I got a CS2 Plug in.. Would this work for Illustrator 11? I cant find any earlier plug ins on SignCuts site. Dan

Knucklehead, "The" EFIJY is the Name of the Car you have as that Vector image mate. The car (the EFIJY) is based on Australia's most popular Car manufactured hear in the 50s, By Australia's General Motors Holden Australia (GMH) However there was a dude in the design industry of GMH (Holden as we refer them as) that thought that if Holden was to build a Kustom prototype it would be great publicity for the company. I forget the guys name, But He actually had drawings of this car years before he submitted the idea to the head of GMH. Dodge/Mopar had already produced the "Prowler" as a Hot rod concept car for the public, and the EFIJY was based around a similar concept for the idea.. Unfortunately for us.. The idea would be allowed to be built with the knowledge that one: He had to build the car in his own time, (But he could have any person and the factories equipment at his disposal). And two: The car would be a One off, Never to see production. Making it a true "Kustom" too some die hard Kustomizes, and in effect it is! So the Car does actually exist. It was built on a C5 Corvette chassis, suspension and running gear(motor). But thats it.. The rest of the Car was entirely hand built hear in Australia using Australian products (bar Paint) The body is a one off Fiberglass piece, Using real glass, opening doors and electric windows. and A/C. Full kustom leather interior with a heavy 50/60s theme look. The car rides on airbags, with one off kustom billet wheels in the 20s in size if I recall? The motor was fitted with our own under bonnet Supercharger by Harrop engineering, It produced something in the range of 500hp+. The Paint is a Kustom mix of House of color. It looks like a deep burgundy candy wine mixed with violet.. And in a true twist of this story, The car was driven the one time.. Buy the Actual designer him self. (at least this was the case as the story was published by Street Machine Magazine Australia) For more reading on this beautiful car, hears a link. http://www.holden.com.au/www-holden/action/conceptcar?modelid=20001 Dan

When its written out like that, It all makes a great deal more sense. I originally thought it was just a matter of Type text and cut. But I see now the error of my ways. As for the stray lines!.. Thats all eliminated. It seems SC is pretty sensitive to information input. After following your instructions, I'm now flying free (look mum, No hands hehe). Rex your a freekin legend, thanks for all your help mate. Hears a little 2min design I did for my fianc

    And So Much For Advertising

Do you mind if I ask what and how this deal would be layed out? I'm guessing you'd lay the Graphics when and if he needs them due to wear and tear of the sport. With your Name/ business name as being the predominant name seen on the car. And you'd do this at your cost yeah? Its interesting as where I now live, There is a speedway (clay/dirt track) that holds a lot of meetings in driving distance from my house. And I now the sprintcar guys use Vinyl. But was unsure if many of the other classes use it for there graphics or not? And your not to worry,, I live on the opposite side of the world.. No competition hear

Being a bit of a car(oldskool) fan, the very first forum I signed up for was sadly one of the biggest hear in Aust (for Auto enthusiast). I lasted only a few months until I was flamed..... flamed, Torched would be a better word!.. for, Wait for it..... Defending the site and the "Real" Enthusiasts". And snobs.. OMG, it was like a magnet for the biggest ego's and aragant minded to be drawn too! It made me question what and why I was wasting my time and knowledge there for when it was obviously not wanted/needed.. So I went off and formed my own. There is an AirBrush forum thats a little the same which I avoid. This place tho is freakin awesome. Tops to Ken and the crew.

SignCut Quiting on importing files and refusing to cut! (Mac)

latest update.. And my brain is starting to hurt lol. I reread your post Vince, And "Created" an outline of my text in illi... Now it'll draw/cut in either eps or ai no problem at all.... thank god for that! lol I tried this with a simple drawing of boxes and stars, and got a heap of random lines (cut lines) over parts or towards the border of the image that is to be drawn or cut? So far this is only in drawn shapes such as boxes, stars, circles etc? Any ideas? I'll do a search tonight, I think I recall this happening to some one els?.... Just gota find it. Thanks for your help Vince_d
